Help Showcase Empires - Screenshots

In order to really push the 2.2 release we want to showcase all the elements which make Empires the best HL2 mod there is. One of the best ways to do that is visually, with great screenshots highlighting new features in 2.2 and other features which show off some of the unique gameplay elements that Empires has. This could be shots of a big tank battle, building a base, infantry and armour moving together, you decide.

We'll be choosing the best shots and showcasing them to the public, but feel free to nominate pictures you think emphasis what you love about the game.

There's no need to post screens of you top of the leader board, but if you have pictures already in your folder go on and post them as well. If you don't know how to embed pictures let me know, or ask in the thread.

 

Make sure, for those that are taking screenshots, you use mat_picmip -10. This will increase the texture detail immensly (at the expense of frames per second), as well as increase reflections and other "good" looking things.

 

Any other visual optimisations? I will gladly play at 2 fps if things look pretty... :p

I am such a graphics whore. Shame my hardware can't keep up with it...

 

Man, it's hard to get a decent actionish screenshot with one person..

So I tried playing with host_timescale but to no avail (was trying to get a cannon fire in mid-air)

So I gave up and just took some pretty lame ones..



And on a side note, what is this?

 

I would also like to know any hidden graphical bells and whistles, as it is my computer makes mincemeat out of the orange box at maxed out settings.

 

I had the perfect shot lined up in spec, seriously, like 8 NF vehicles, meds APCs LTs and a CV, were chasing the smoking BE comm. And just as I hit F9. Bam. 'Brenodi has Been Defeated'

 

Yesterday, I tried setting mat_picmip to -10 and after I had done that, I didn't see any difference.











Also, for teh lulz:

 

Make some comparisons, take a screenshot default, and then set it to whatever and retake the screenshot.

1024 or 800 res so not major quality but they are the best of what i had kicking around.

 

Send an email to moddb and tell them that they shouldn't feature our mod and they should just fuck off? On it!

Do the pictures need to be taken in 2.2 or can we get some from 2.12?

 

Uhh are these just supposed to be from 2.2? Cos the pics posted by MeLee above were taken today 2.12... I recognise myself as the very badly hidden NF CV on money, today, "hiding" in the VF in ticket sudden death...
