Hardcore Empires PUG #1: Sunday 23rd April 19:00 (UTC) Find your time and date On Sunday 23rd of April I am organizing a pick-up game, for lack of better term, a "more-organized than usual" Empires game. It will take place on my server, "Mr. X.'s Hardcore Empires" which most of you know has some drastic gameplay changes, most notably no wages and no player-refinery-scaling. The ideal duration of this PUG is 3 hours, leaving room for 3 to 4 maps. Players should show up as soon as 15 minutes before the event to participate in the warm-up which will happen on emp_district402. Here is the steam group for this PUG and future PUGs. Keep in mind if you enter this group whenever there is a PUG there will be multiple events popping up before it starts. Maps: I have yet to decide if I should leave it to my server's voting system to select the maps, what do you think? EDIT: we may want to stick to official maps if we get a large amount of players because of slowDL. Commanders: If you are an experienced Commander you can reserve your a slot for one or more maps, simply reply here with your in-game name and an amount of rounds you would like to command. Squad Leaders: Like Commanders you can reserve a slot to be squad leading, but no need to specific how many games you would like to lead. Additionally you can select up to 2 players with whom you would like to play and if balance allows it they will be put onto your team. Plugin: Some members of the community are working on plugins to facilitate such games, depending on their time-table we may or may not be using these plugins.
Would it blow your mind if I were to tell you that GMT is actually exactly the same as UTC time - but GMT is sexier - its the Austin Powers of timezones.
but GMT is BST for half the year, UTC doesnt know about summer time. if someone writes GMT in summer, do i assume he doesnt know better and means BST (so +1h for me) or does he really mean winter time? (+2h) and yes i know there is this time conversion thing, but thats not the point. UTC simply is superior. UTC masterracetime!
thats basically what i wrote didnt i? ontop of that, but yes it really only is an issue for like 2 weeks or smthg, the date at which countries switch from and to DST isnt the same around the globe either. fe. this year the US switched on 12th march, the EU on the 26th. and on the southern hemisphere, they switched from DST to non-DST time (between 14th feb in brazil and 26th march in paraguay). oh and not to forget, there are countries that dont change to DST at all.
I know spriggals is something like a great cs player, but it's surprising to see him with so many kills on empires because I know he doesn't play it that often.
