You CAN'T change the hardware MAC. It's in read-only memory. You would have to replace the entire chip.
explaining why it would be hard, and i believe it is eprom or eeprom sometimes nowadays (but still, for eprom i dont have acces to that device to edit it)
I don't think you would see any [CHOPPER]-style greifing anymore. The reason they were so effective was that the mittoes server had few admins and was the most popular. Most popular Empire's servers now have sufficient number of admins to prevent such shenanigans.
Seems none of you have a clue about how MAC addresses are handled on the internet. In short, they aren't. MAC addresses only matter on the LAN. Once you send a packet through a router, layer 2 (which contains the MAC address) is discarded, and a new one is put on with the source MAC address set to the MAC address of the exit interface on the router.
Ye, once we let loose Recon, those folks would cry themselfs to death. BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN , new server, BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN.
on some networks it can be useful to get unbanned or avoid protections if you change your mac address of your router i was talking more in general in stead of "getting unbanned from a videya geem"
can we disable giant text for retards plz it should be used for headings not whenever you want to make a lame joke and rape my eyes
No. Your MAC address will never.ever.ever. help in getting you unbanned, considering that no device other then your default gateway knows your MAC address and it never travels outside your local network. I'm proud of you finding a MAC spoofing program and all, but please let the big kids talk now.
What the fuck are you on about, your MAC address is in the second layer of any IP packet. Also there is no need to be such a gigantic douche to the guy. Most decent routers allow blocking by MAC address (because by IP address would be pretty silly), which would indeed easily be passed by using a MAC spoofer. Maybe you should actually learn how computers interact before logging on solely to call people idiots.
Ok, so I installed Windows on my Mac so I could change my Mac address. But I don't see where you do it. Can someone tell me? I really want this new address!
