I would rather have engineer being the only class you can choose at start and only after the armoury is built are the other classes made available.
it may be a good plan, but should it really be forced? not running the comm car off to the enemy base is a good plan but making it immobile for a while wouldnt be much use. If the team want to send some of its members off to go and shoot the other sides engineers why not? maybe not the case in 3v3 but in 10v10 there isnt so much need for everyone to be engineers.
Seconded. I see too many people taking Grenadier/Scout/Rifleman and just rushing the enemy base and sniping their engies, etc. before they get started. I've never had it done to me, though I wouldn't say it's that fair. I have had one or two games where 70-80% of the team were Engineers - it is, hands down, the best non-combat class (Engineer and Scout being noncom, and Rifleman/Grenadier being com) and in one 3v3 game I actually ranked all the way up to Sergeant, making only 2-3 kills in the entire game.
a team of 10 engineers can easely outmatch a team of 10 non-engineer (random) players only the fact that, once teh fist wave of spaun rushers come to the full engineer base its loaded with turrets and they may allready have some light tanks and etc...
Lets remove the other classes since we dont need them only engineers Bummer we dont have a Cynic smilie...
tecnically, you coud do this, you woud get a game like natural selection, where evryone is an engineer from our point of view but then you woud have to change some of the game to keep it fun and keep multiple strategys to work
Forcing players to play a certain class is not fun. Period. Want to win? I'm going to suggest something thats a little off the beaten path: work as a team. Yeah, I know. Revolutionary, isnt it? Something needs building? Be an engineer. Or call other engineers on your team over.
i dont want to be harsh or anything, but i hope this thread dies and dies quickly with no moaning or panting gasps for its mother.
i love the spawn as engie first idea also maybe make every class be a research for the comm? or everyone is same class but equipement and device need research? i admit its would make thing pretty diferent
classes being reseachable is somthing quite diffrent, it has potential thoug needs to be discussed and falconx, cut the crap! you are not helping anyone, maybe YOU shoud concider democracy? in stead of making dicisions for the whole comunity? i know, we have come to the conclusion that the forced engineer controlled by the commander might provoke abuse but making a player spaun each time as an engineer and then letting him change it in the armory once it is built, then spaun the selected class on death (forget this--> but each time he dies he needs to rechange it to the preferred class <--forget this) is a great, and teamwork provoking idea if you, in you last post, coud suggest a better way of encouraging team play and commander leadership (thats actually where this tread is all about) then it woud be great! and more ppl will actually listen to you
yea, ok, that woud be quite irritating maybe forget the side note they need to select a class in the armory, then they spaun that class each time they die
That's nto what I meant at all. Only after the armoury is built will the other classes become available. You don't have to change classes every respawn >.>
That would completly stop early rush games and denying the ability to halt the enemy from building resources... dont really like the idea of engies being the be all class...
