Explosion radius does nothing on vehicle mgs

    As title says, it does nothing. This is one of the main reasons he mg is really crap against infantry, you have to hit them dead on to do any damage which is really bad when you consider it's fire rate and how lag affects it.

    I tested this by setting he mg to do 500 damage and gave it a explosion radius twice that of a nuke, so I'm pretty sure it's currently borked.

    Are all tank weapons supposed to be good against infantry?

    No, but He mg wouldn't exactly be good even with some explosion radius. The radius is pretty small, a little smaller than a mortar shot. It only does 14 damage too and fires incredibly slowly. I just think it's really silly that someone on the ground can walk around and let health regen take care of any damage, like what happens with du.

    If he mg is suppose to be absolute crap against infantry that's fine too, but I really would think it would be a tad better at hurting tanks or buildings then.

    This is weird because the lack of splash on MGs probably isn't a "bug" - it was just never implemented. Each vehicle weapon type has its own fire function, so you get kooky stuff like this. It'd be nice if someone could "fix" it, but it's unfortunately a low priority at the moment.

    Right, but I just always thought it was weird that people have been giving he mg that radius and people been using it like it actually works. If it doesn't you really should remove so people don't get the wrong idea of how it works, though most are probably basing it off the explosion effect when it hits, so not much can be done about that either I guess.

    Even the ones with explosion particle effects, and explosion sound effects, and the word "explosive" in the name?

    Shit. We've made a huge mistake! Think of all the weapons that do have explosive radii! Like HE cannon, nukes, ugl....

    It's all going. In fact, to make up for lost time, we'll implement negative splash. Those weapons will heal enemies in their blast radius. That oughta do it.

    i dont make the game. mgs have no explosion radius, per the game. thus, not a bug

    e: im pretty sure most people know that it doesnt have an explosion radius

    I swear HEMG used to do splash
    maybe I'm going insane, but it used to have a hl2 explosion effect before I redid everything.

    Why would they know this? It really doesn't make sense, and I have never heard it, and it's counter-intuitive.

    I'm pretty sure HE MG used to have splash. I remember taking 10's of damage as infantry from it.

    It's just weird if what Spartacus says is true. I would have expected a variable to be coded somewhere...
