Yeah it's a great game if you like "Grand strategy". Resisiting the french blob and forming the HRR as one of the little German countries is fun. Learn more about European history than in school.
Sounds good, too bad I got Elite Dangerous and Tomb Raider (it's 80% off too I believe, or maybe the offer ended already).
EU IV is definitely a time eater. It's one of those games that make hours go by in what feels like minutes.
you want a time eater... play reassembly. Every time I play it, its "just for an hour"... 4 hours later WAY pass bed time on a work night... "SHIT!"
I think I gave up on dwarf fortress the last time because when I told my dwarfs to sit on top of the tower so they could shoot at the incoming army, they instead opened the gates and sat right in front of them. I was not happy about this. That was like a year or 2 ago or something, maybe it's better now...
Unfortunately dorfs still treat your commands more as guidelines. You can make them go where you want but its really time consuming to make proper battlements.
