Engineer Defense idea(S)

    yea, keeping the freedom of placement but still with a large controll on it,

    and the rotation angle can be changed by holding your Mouse button and dragging your mouse (like comm makes normal buildings)

    Making a bunker is the equivilent to making a turrent farm, only people have to man the turrents, so you can kill the people. I can see the bunker being popular, but the watch tower is somthing that will not be implemented often. It would be so cool, though, to have a bunker in front of the last wall in escort.

    I think this is a really cool idea, and the prelocated building points is a great plan. There was a comment in the original post about only one engineer being able to build it. I think this could be a troublesome idea, especially if the engineer drops from the server. I know someone mentioned that only a comm should place the foundation, which is kinda like the Bunker idea from the last forum. I was in favour of that idea, but I like the idea of engineer choice. I hope that this building can be recycled by someone, either the original engineer, or the Comm, as it could get in the way as a base grows.

    Maybe instead of preset positions, there are no-build areas, near places that could be exploited. I know this is a ton of work, but it would provide a large amount of freedom

    Then a no build radius (ahh the growing complexity) around an existing structure. maybe wide enough for a couple heavies to fit through?

    that woud make it crappy, having nobuild brushes overlap eachother might make them disable themselves where they overlap (i have seen this before in source engine)

    Thats what I had in mind for the Tower, though I was thinking something more slim looking. This one though looks like it would be perfect for the Brenodi.
    Another thing missing is on the second level, with my idea there would be another Manned Turret and again the option for the Engineer to choose what kind of turret is it.
    Well it would be like a engineer's Turret, he drops or changes class and it disappears.

    Though about the Commander placing the first step. What about the commander placing the final step? He'd place the? Main Bunker and Watch Tower and then other engineers could add on the placements/barracades on the sides and top, the turrets, spot light. etc... So if the Engineer who orginaly built the first placement drops, then another enginer could fill in that door way of the main bunker.

    I think the barricade/placement should be able to forms a chain. But with the bunker, it will obviously need a large building area and I believe should have a Wall length or two for a no build zone on both sides. This way, not to many maps could build them in small choke points and would take some strategy on building them in that you have to place them in certain areas if you want to creat a large bunker defense.

    I personally like the specific ares where you can build it idea, where there are alot of them on the map, not like one every 2 feet but emough you have multiple options of where to build, and for rotation there should be a max degree rotation on ones close to bases so you can't build a bunker with a rocket turret right next to their base and constantly bombard them.
