That's a theory, but you are new so you don't understand. Of the 100s of unproductive suggestions we have got over time, we get a dozen or so people who claim that they will help by coding/modeling/texturing/etc. The developers know this the most. I was just annoyed that Varbles decided to make the same, old rant thread (and his original post doesn't says he willing to help; it says there are "people" in the community who may be able to help) instead of just asking a dev directly for help. If he actually does something, it will be a first.
new? lol from my perspective you are new, and 100s of unproductive suggestions WE have gotten? Are you something other then a random forum troll? because you talk like you think you are part of the mod team.
Well from the perspective of a new player, everything is new . Just take my word for it. We as in the Empires community. The game is more than just its developers.
And he is new to the Empires forums (despite when he created the account) if he doesn't know how unproductive these threads are. Also, don't blame me if that member title is tied to ones post count
add some pictures, maybe have like a scratched up, rusty steel as the backdrop of the site.... some youtube of gameplay would be nice as well on the site. something like natural selection site XD...
It would be really nice to just have a slideshow of small screenshots or short good videos of empires gameplay above the devblog section, like steam pages have. I'm still working on that mockup btw.
I'll be gettin' some hi-rez full-quality screenshots in the mean time. Trickster I sent you like, 10 screenshots of EVERY DAMN MAP WHERE DID THOSE GO.
can we please show atquick's AWESOME GIFS on the front page. They look better then real empires and are pretty small in filesize.
They're saved for when we eventually re-add the map screen to server joining. There's a plan to fix the server joining so that the load bar actually represents how your download/server join is actually going, but it's one of those "we'll get to it at some point" things.
Sorted, thanks. And whilst I'm thanking you, thanks for doing the steamtest batch script too. It took a bit of adapting because my steam folder and steamapps folder are on separate hard drives, but it works perfectly, so nice job on that too.
ya I was just gana put together a 5 min program to do what the batch files do. It would have been able to detect your empires location but, then I though... people will be unhappy because they can't change it and they may not know what state they currently are in.
