Empires Veterans Pug - Saturday 10th September 9pm Bst/1pm Pdt/4pm Edt

I'm done hosting pugs for the foreseeable future. I'm taking a break from Empires gaming, so I'll just help out developing and shit where I can. If you need a server then I'll throw one up, but I won't do eventspam and get you people for it

Not leaving, I'll still be on forums, still be doing what little useless development I do, still help out, I just don't feel like playing for a while. I was planning on doing this when BF3 beta started anyway, but I've had enough 2 weeks earlier than intended. Most of EPIC has. A load are playing the new "Wurm" server, a fair few of us are waiting on BF3, we've all been some of the most dedicated Empires players for so long. I've been playing constantly for close to 4 years now. And it's just starting to lose the buzz for me a bit, not to mention that as time has gone on, the average skill of the playerbase, and supposed "veterans", has gotten worse. Hopefully, by the time I come back (when we finally get to the next release) then we'll get enough new players up, and old vets back in, that we can start having good games again, but I just sort of ran out of steam for now.

 

supposed veterans getting worse is just cause you get this veteran etiquette quick now since everyone sucks so bad if you just are a bit better you are but w/E

And I thought you would be happy seeing people on your ts3 all the time now :D Wurm is pretty great though

 

yeah I've noticed this too tbh,,, empires forum got lot quiter,,, emp games got a lot shittier due to no vets. and meh.

Btw I'm not really playing wurm anymore cause it's kind of boring not having the risk of getting killed and W/E feels like, click click click alot and then you click more and when you have clicked even more after that you have built something remotely good in quality.

 

no shit sherlock, we are on the bloody carebear server.
the pvp Epic server which we are all waiting for is out in oktober :p

(note: the name is unrelated to the empires clan and merely a coincidence)

The only reason we went to this server in the first place was to teach the basics to the new peeps.
Then we realised that we could gather some money by selling high quality armour and tools to the carebears and therefor extended our visit

There is a big diffrense between carebear servers and pvp ones.

For instance here on the carebear server u can find a wolf...

On the Wild server you find:



not to mention enemy players going in raiding parties on mounts equipped with longbows...


TLDR: freedom sux.

Feels bad man, I guess it just gets boring doing the same thing over and over again.

 

Skilled players on your team are what makes every experience unique. Hence why it sucks at the moment.

 

So what does this mean for EPIC? Hiatus? Disband?

 

It will be the last of the four houses of empires to leave, BSID, JPL, EPIC, Huffle puff CW.

 

a big portion of us (and togheter with other emp'ers) play other games than empires togheter

like Wurm, Starcraft, CnC, etc. :D

So i'd call it hiatus if anything.
