Nah I never played silo and don't really care too. I want to play the maps that I played a million times but with out the idiots. That's the point of this PUG, it's to play maps we know and like except with team work and people who know how to play. I don't want to test maps.
The difference between official maps and custom ones is that we are used to the glitches/exploits asf on maps included into the installer. No offense but after looking through the vmf's of some offical maps I lost all my trust in those mappers... most custom ones are better made.

Well I don't have it downloaded so I would think its new, and your version of slaughtered was horrible on FPS. That's what I meant by it being laggy or whatever I said. If its not released "Emp_Silo! look forward to it cautiously today!" then wouldn't every time its played before that be a test? I'm sure lots of people want to test maps. I'm just not one of them.
Last maps in the PUG will be custom from now on if we remember. That way people can test the map but people don't have to play custom maps as the PUG would be a bit more calmed down.
I mean I don't got a problem with all custom maps. I wouldn't mind playing the ones that are already established. Fuck I dunno maybe omnehs map is going to be the best empires map ever, But I don't know that and if its still a work in progress I don't want to have to deal with it like we did when ever his version of slaughtered would come up. Is it a fps eater like your last map?
FPS wise it is nowhere near as laggy as any of my previous maps have been, and its certainly playable... but then again, it doesn't run as fast as the Empires "average". There has been little in the way of complaint about FPS issues though, and if there are, they should be ironed out by next version. I should have updated my signature when I released it, apologies. Its been around for a month or so now, and it gets played on a regular basis on g4tc. I prefer to think slaughtered never happened, BUT IT DID

Define fps eater... I dunno but as a mapper you have to aim for the majority of players out their. I cant map for people that have a gpu slower than a card equal to one of the nvidia 7000 series For example emp_mesa is very open with brushwork, theirs no way to make it run as fast as emp_canyon.
the slaughterd map he made was a fps eater.. I dunno how to define it, I'm not a mapper but its not hard to notice it when its that bad.
Cause slaughtered isnt't optimized at all and the only reason that it is playable with decent fps is because their is almost nothing to render. Omneh put stuff in it and cause of the horrible optimization it was all rendered all at once.
The fps was ok but when you aimed towards the center where the water was the fps dropped from on me from 100 to 30.
Hey, guys, take it elsewhere. This topic is getting kind of long. On the topic of custom maps in the PUG, I am highly in favor of pure vanilla for the moment. It's just easier on everyone. I guess having the 4th or 5th map as custom would not be so bad, though.
