ohh lol so I followed the link on first page... Empires Mod Organized Scrim League I like my interpretation better though.
I haven't had the chance to discuss it with the captains yet but for the sake of the event, we'll stick with crossroads. Crossroads engages a team to communicate a lot, making the scrim feel a lot more intimate than the usual squad leader only communicating amongst his squadmates. The other reasons for having it on is that this event is "to test the waters" to see if we can actually pull off something like this weekly/bi-weekly. I'll be sending out a survey or posting a new thread to get some feedback on changes that need to be made to the event's format.
Not really all that relevant, but I always thought crossroads could benefit from being a little shorter at both ends and a little longer in the middle instead. It takes an age to get into the middle without a rax, and while that can be a good thing, putting down a new rax after you've lost one is always pretty hard since the middle towers give you a vantage point to mortar/nade from, which is usually pretty effective area denial. Also...isn't crossroads one of the hardest maps to return from if you're losing? It doesn't really allow for any apc rushes or sneak raxes, which does make gameplay rather linear, which is not a terrible thing for a small map but...it means you might not effectively be assessing the better team, since much of the tactical nature of the wider game has been reduced. It's great for infantry combat though.
You're mistaking ninjaing with a comeback. Xroads is one map is nigh impossible to mount a decent comeback. Half the time it happens it has more to do with the enemy com doing stupid shit, like getting arty.
