Judging from the lenght of the Magazine on this new Shot gun. It appears that it can fire 6 shots before needing a reload. Tho reloading would be a slow process. Which is probably why it has a bayonet :)

Yeah, that's been one of the major downsides to melee so far. See: NF heavy pistol.

Apparently you have not seen a full sized 8x map. It blew my mind how big it was. We are talking monstrous.

If you have a map filling the maximum source size, and then you scale all the players and models down to an 8th of their original size, you now have one huge map.

You don't scale down the map too... that defeats the point of scaling in the first place ;)

Chris wins the all empiresmod forums uptake competition!

    Have a novelty clock!

Also, that shotgun looks awesome. Although, I'm kinda wondering where the BE version of things are... I've only seen pics of NF planes (aside from the plane-I-can't-remember-the-name-of styled fighter jets)

I would love to see a BE shotgun along the same chunky lines as the Heavy Pistol. :D

Am I the only person who doesn't like the shotgun?

I mean there's nothing wrong with it as a model or as weapon, it just doesn't really fit empires.

I know the NF are supposed to be a bit ghetto in terms of equipment but you aren't seriously saying that they equip their scouts with what looks for all the world like an oversized flintlock pistol? The NF tech level I think is best centred around WW2 style firearms, lots of pressed steel, riveting, and simple mechanisms, but not wood and cast iron handles.

Something like a short-barreled winchester would be more appropriate if you must have wood, although ideally it would be made more metallic.

If you take this gun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Winchester_1897.jpg, shorten the barrel to the end of the pump mechanism, replace the handle with a somewhat more modern stock cast in metal, like the remington: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_870 but with the same, somwhat crude feel to it as the winchester, then it would make it much more believeable I think. It isn't complex, but it is simple to make and use, and uses big, bulky parts and emphasises functionality over finesse, which is what the NF would seem to be all about.

apparently you haven't heard krenzo say that it only takes a couple of seconds to cross the map at full speed in an airplane...

You also black out when you go at full speed, so don't expect to use airplanes as kinetic missiles.

Look at soviet weapons, they have lots of wood. The shotgun I made is based the 1901 winchester shotty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_M1887 The back story of the shotgun explains that it is older than the normal NF weapons. Plus it fits into the close quarters role that Im looking to move the scout into.
