It's an expansion, so no. I tried it out earlier, pretty good. DE seem quite radical, altho it is way too easy to gather up soul essence at the moment. Defo buying this tho.
I was expecting that you had to actually harvest souls from the dead but it seems you get an endless supply from your base anyway so boo =P I like how building sbuild themselves though
Same here, now it works like the food- req on AoE, with less space required :p They should buff the prices of those upgrades, or even move them up a tier, so that players are forced to gather it from battle remainings for some time And yeah the DE buildings are quite spiffy.
The race is cool, but I have the feeling that when a Baneblade or Land Raider shows up to the party, its all over.
Land Raider was pretty easy to take out in the demo with the emp thingy the aircraft have. But yea, DE is prolly gonna get beaten down, hard in late games.
Imo the dark eldar "super" unit is somewhat weak, only the special ability can be usefull against inf , but it fails against vehicles. I dont like DE too much , because they have no true def structures , just like the tau , but tau at least had very long range rifles.. Hopefully its still beta
DE rely a lot on their support/soul powers. I found the morale, corrosion and soulstorm abilities really handy. DE are going to be really micro heavy I imagine :D
For some reason I only saw this thread today, and I ordered this last week. Comes out around 3 weeks after the expansion comes out, and I never had any of the original games, so bonus to me! Anyway £30 is a pretty good deal to me for DoW and the 3 expansions in one box. Much awesomeness will come of this. One thing that I did notice, however, is that Starcraft 2 comes out at the same time. WHICH ONE DO I PLAY FIRST?!
