Yeah, crysis had a good stealth system.

I love using the silenced pistol in Crysis 2. You can get off like 2-3 shots while cloaked and you stay cloaked. Felt op to me, but I loved it.

I kinda liked stealth in the first crysis.

And then I got creative and combined the fact that stealth works in vehicles and you rightfully do not count as moving when driving.

    Predictable, yet hilarious results.
One of the reasons why I go against the flow and say Crysis 1 was amazing as far as new FPS titles go.

Crysis 1 really was incredible. It was so "pure" feeling. Like you could put a scope on your shotgun after finding it. It was meh at best, but the game let you do it.

I loved Crysis 1 up until it became linear. But the first 50% of the game at least was incredible.

Crysis 2 was fairly meh, I couldn't even be bothered completing it.

I also loved the missle launcher in crysis. 3 guided shots.
Shoot all into the sky and then just move the reticle along the convoy.
    Portable missle artillery is bitching.

Oh I know. Like every review was basically, "the beginning is great, the aliens suck."

I mean, what was in the marketing & tech demos? It was all jungles, aliens & koreans, not frozen alien bullshit.

I thought Crysis 2 was more consistently good throughout its campaign, but Crysis 1 was still something special.

its funny, in a way it was a good idea to dont spoil aliens so i was quite surprised, but then, it was aliens, and it was meh.

At least the zero G environment was REALLY well done, I really should revisit that one with an Oculus Rift (or similar)

I never really got into it. It was fun in a "minigame" sorta way. It dragged on longer than I would've liked.

The first half of Crysis 1 was amazing, being a predator sneaking up on soldiers, but once the aliens show up the game just goes downhill.
Also, right when you think it can't get any worse near the end of the game, it does, the game throws a huge GIANT ALIEN BOSS BATTLE at you and it's all like "SHOOT THE GLOWING WEAK SPOTS!".
It couldn't have possibly got any more cliché at the end.....
I still enjoyed it all the way though but the enjoyment got less and less towards the end.

the boss battle was amazing gfx wise though - for its time at least. gfx made a huge step forward at this time.

C 1 is still the best looking crysis, barring the pretty water efects in third.
In fact C1 is still one of the better looking games out there, though you probably have to slap a ultra high res patch or two. Really goes to show how little has been accomplished in the past 7 years compared to the previous times.

Did i mention it had bitching custom, fan made missions?

its nostalgia speaking out of you, but you cant deny that gfx made a huge leap forward around the time crysis came out - a leap we havent seen in the recent 7 years.

Neither do I, but many people are okay with sticking to 30fps

yes its those guys argueing that film also only has 24fps and you cant percieve the difference anyway (which is total utter bullshit)

It's not even funny how big the difference is. We should sit them in front of a PC and dynamically switch around the framerate from 24 to 60, see if they notice.

Hobbit was pretty good at the higher fps. Lighting looked a bit strange though, still good. Personally as long as it doesn't dip under 30 I am totally find with it.

I have crysis 2 but still haven't got to playing it. Does it matter if you play them in order or is story something that doesn't really matter in this series?

theres references, but since there isnt a single story choice you can make, they dont really matter.
its not like it would be some deep story ...
