If there is more than one VF the effect of killing one of them is diminished too. My assumption there was that the choice was between the only radar and the only VF.
Radar > VF > Barracks > Comm, unless it's a rush. Also, 3 phase is best on almost any map except for CQC maps. I'd recommend it over Gas Turbine as I can't think of any situation where gas turbine is better, it's simply more quick if you are in the tree. Edit: Also, Destroyer, your NF research should consist of Bio MG and homing/guided first before cannon, get meds & heavies, then get a cannon. Would maximize damage and save time.
Gas turbine doesn't stall when you overheat though. Therefor making it retard proof engine, thus more useful than you think it is. Also you can steer better with GAS GAS GAS.
As far as I know, you don't stall with any engine anymore. Security made it so each engine you can still move around with. Also, bio diesel is the only one that you can drive at full speed while overheated.
That is the dumbest fucking thing security has done with this game yet. There is literately no point in getting any engine except 3phase.
3phase is a bitch to control, cools only so-so, and weighs the most. The speed definitely helps thanks to the insane acceleration profile, but there are maps, situations, and equipment combos that can use other engines more effectively. The average player will get the most kick out of that one though, they just drive from obstacle to obstacle so getting back up to speed after a collision is an engine's most important property for them.
3 phase regen lights are AMAZING as NF. Gas Turbine is better than Standard and quick to get. (with the strongest armor) Fission weighs 10, more armor/weapons! Adv Coolant is meh for CQC, pretty slow. Bio is... useless.
Plasma! Only engine that works when overheated Also has 125 max heat. Unlike all other engines at 100.
Thats what we were discussing. It's the only engine that works at 100% efficiency while overheated, but every other engine has 20% capability. Plasma is also useless and hardly overheats you.

With the current state of the community and impact of offensive weapons, the best engine is the fastest engine. Idiots and pros can drive away safely, and pros can chase and destroy. Slow engine -> certain death.
You are right about the cannon coming too soon, but I'm still opting for getting it before heavies. They're just a pretty big time sink, while NF meds can totaly hold their own. Anyway, janky BE build time. I lost faith in BE meds because they're very squish in comparison to warcubes. 1. Mechanical Engineering 2. Advanced Machining 3. Composite Armor 4. Gas Turbine Engine 5. Upgraded Chassis 6. Medium Tank Chassis 7. Chemistry 8. Improved Flagration Compounds* 9. Explosive Tipped Bullets 10. Improved Warhead Compounds 11. Upgraded Missile Warhead 12. Advanced Chassis 13. Heavy Tank Chassis 14. Physics 15. Projectile Physics 16. Aerodynamic Shells 17. Heavy-Duty Ranged Cannon Get RPG upgrades and counter weapons/armors if resources are low and/or you're pressured too much. Artillery is a quick two minutes away for siege breaking. Or just get nukes for ease of use, whatever. *This is already adjusted for the machine gun damage fix. As it stands, getting Bio MG is the way to go.
