It snowed back in December here in Oregon. It was the first time it actually snowed in four or so years and the first time it heavily snowed in around eight.
I find that strange, Chicago is right next to that giant Lake and that normally balances things. I bet U.S. research on global warming will be cut by 20% next year. :D
Early December last year everything here froze. EVERYTHING. Universities and all other kinds of places closed for a week because it's so rare that we don't have any way to deal with it. There's such a disconnect between the northern US and the south, I know people who moved here from the north that are confused as to what the big deal is. Then they realize that we don't have snow plows to clear major roads, or salt/sand to lay on the road, or any of the things that they take for granted. Completely unequipped to deal with ice and snow, and most of us have never/rarely driven on icy roads. Reminds me of something, LED traffic lights sounded like a good idea in theory (energy savings, yay!) but when some northern cities installed them the first freeze showed the problem: they didn't produce enough heat to melt the ice off and froze over.

There is this thing called the equator. Places that are further away from said thing, will always be colder than the places closer to it. If you are doing to have a dick sizing contest, you need to play to your strengths. Cold weather is not a fucking strength, its a deterrent and A TERRIBLE ONE. But I rather be freezing my ass off than being hot.
False. It was -29C 'on Mars' and -30something C in Canada. The thing that's missing is that it was -29C on Mars on the ground It is likely that it was down to about -90 or -80C a few feet above the ground, as the atmosphere doesn't retain heat on Mars. Just wanted to say that Twitter can be wrong, and that it's sad that so many news agencies picked up these claims as true. I read the same claim made about maybe five different cities or states citing the same evidence. EDIT: Well, I guess your claim is technically true since you said 'the surface of mars' but it's a dumb and misleading claim anyways

You do realize weather is a non living being and affects all right? Weather doesn't play as much of a factor these days sense we basically eliminated the need to send people with guns to some place when we have remote controlled bombs, and obamas to shit talk our way to victory.
