    Thanks, my hammer is good again.

    Candles your version works for me, but I'm starting over on another system with fresh installs of everything. I don't have all the older versions and configs hanging around.

    Did you guys put that gameconfig.txt into the default Empires setup? I swear I haven't touched anything and it was set correctly already.

    Default one didn't work for me. I used the one candles posted and it worked.

    Just a heads up if anyone has trouble with this, make sure that you have the correct C: directory. EX:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Empires\empires
    that is mine. I have 2 C:\Program Files directories.
