if it was a desert map i'd even call it a cammel toe but seriously good work for the 1st attempt. what converters did you use ? im working on a few foiliage type props. did whatever you used create all 40 of those damn model files like the dx8 and dx9 and the other things ? here is what im working on right now .. this is the high poly sofar, when i realise how to do texture stuff its done.. also if anybody has a poly limit for say a rock that would help me its at like 200 faces low poly. this is a shrub im working on right now also.
Whee, you really can depend on grizzly to get decent feedback Shoe is made of 214 (edit: 208..sry)faces if i remember correcty so its low poly model. Texturing anything is a pain max6, i hear that you should "accuire" version 8 wich would make uv-mapping easier... Im using 3ds max 6 with photoshop to texture and studiocompiler to convert smd's to hl2 props(makes all those 40 model files with single button ;=) ). Sofar looks nice but i dont know what it means so i'll just say it looks nice for a bubble As knights who say Ni might say: We cant have enough shubberies... PS. Grizzly, could you be a little more constructive? mebbe a little hint where i could make the shoe better or just tell me to stop the sillyness and just demand for stuff to me made for me to use.... silly me... I was going to ask for people who would like to see certain props ingame to post what they want with somekind of reference scetches to see if our "solid" modeling empires community could improve their skills if possible
firstly what is your tank shoe for??? and secandly i think we should set up a entitres exchange website where people can post a libry of their work and request things to be made.
Well Duh! Apparently tank shoe is to lessen teh use of physics in tank tracks so we could get smooth fps after tank spam starts. I thought replacing 4-6 tire physics objects with 2 giant shoes would make the difference... Secondly You will never get my über shoes! :D
i was more refering to the whole thing looking ready for asskicking :D but yeah, try making it less smoth and curved, if i where to make somthing out of metal to cover the threads or whatever i would make it look more or less like the tank itself so yeah, to sum it up, sharper angles! annyways, nice to see someone making props atleast
Just go for it Hellion, if i learned it so it must be easy for you. Apreciate your thoughts Grizzly. I was thinking about BE and NF having different tank shoes so i thought BE should have rounded and polished looking thingy. I'll probably be modifying it for some time to come.

damn i was going to do sand bags too.. oh well ill think of something else i guess.. hey that tank shoe [for a lack of a better name] is sorta like a sand bag for tanks... oh yes , i wonder if they will make our props offical ? !?!
Im making more of those sandbags including different shapes of stacks, keeping them low poly and still looking good is time consuming job. Hope they turn out good so hellion wont have to make own version of them. Just pm me if you want to get that test map with the props.
