Fission has crappy heat lose while moving. It also doesn't have better horsepower. Due to the fact it takes a long time to research and it sucks, getting 3-phase is better.
The secret to being a good commander is being good at the game. It is pretty obvious what works and what doesn't work as commander if you play the game for a week. Then again, I'm constantly amazed by fail.
Some peoples fail never ceases to amaze me too. Admins need to start toughening up if they want to keep players by banning complete idiots. And I don't mean griefers and suiciders. I mean the dickheads who just stand in some random place where all the other dickheads are standing to achieve nothing. Seriously, they are breaking the game and they need to be sent back from whence they came. Nothing annoys vets more than a bunch of noobs on their team who don't have a fucking clue about teamwork.
and who decides whos good enough to stay? i mean srsly i got angry today cause 8 people couldnt hold an apc in the valley on slaughter... but you cant do that... i mean you cant ban people for noobness....
The secret to being a good commander is to ignore your teams moaning at ALL costs. When I do a nuke rush, I always have people moaning about engine. If i get biodiesel, people complain that its heat dissapation is too low. If i get adv coolant, people complain that they stall (IMO they should not be driving if they can't control themselves) If you let them get to you, you will end up fucking up...I have many a time. Just ignore any moaning from your team, and you will do fine. If people offer advice and opinions, sure, listen, but if they start moaning, just ignore them.
i like 2 engines, bio diesel and fission :p but realy, i'd drive a tank with any engine, any armor, and any kind of guns if my comm asks to :p
all we need is a couple of streamable tutorial videos on this website and on youtube, made by the dev teams. that would improve the quality of play immediately, i think. and make the in the actual game, so with the make new server, options, find servers etc, you will have "tutorial video" too.
or you could add a "tutorial level" a single player map you can run tough that shows you some stuff (like dystopia)
You could force things, like the only way to get across a ravine is to build a bridge (engineer tutorial), use the rpg to destroy something (engineer brush with the rpg only setting), or survive more damage than the other classes (rifleman). As for Scout, he would have to use hide to get through a turret invested area. Vehicle training for specific weapons is possible through the use of the point_servercommand entity and emp_sv_(un)research_item. Commander training is the only impossible thing to do.
