empires wiki it horrendously outdate; most people who are new aren't aware that it exists; even if they do, they usually won't bother reading it anyways
Tech tree is not out of date. And even without knowing the exact values it is pretty easy to find out after a few games(you can even ask commanders and other players for information on engines, weapons and armors) what counters what.
really? i didn't know that absorbant armor still costed 725 res, and that med tanks took 90 seconds to research. the point is, it's unecessarily complicated, no one looks at the text in the research tree anyways because you basically just learn it as is, and yea that's basically all i have to say.
And yet what is the point of saying that? Adding it just adds a little more flavour, it doesn't break anything.
the amount of "flavor" it will add is negligible, and it will thus only serve to confuse new players.
wiki is out of date because its closed to registration and whoever is running it is too dumb to put spam protection on it.
Again, would you vote in a noob comm that doesn't know what the hell he is doing? This kind of stuff only confuses retards.
this kinda of stuff also raises the learning curve, at no discernable benefit. not only that, some people may be less likely to use certain weapons simply because their names are dumber. to give you an example, would you, a newbie, rather use a weapon called "nukes" or a weapon called "upgraded missle launcher"? obviously, most people chose nukes, despite the fact that nukes are basically plasma missles with large AOE that have a dps lower than that of std cannon.
the descriptions are already clear enough like "Infects player" or simply "advanced coolant" can make you understand what you are getting.
Because we didn't want to think nukes were nukes. Even though they do massive splash and massive damage and look like mushroom clouds.
