Agreed. Some big rocks and a few craters here and there couldn't hurt either. You should also add more bushes, clusters of them, where you could hide.
It makes me sleepy. Personally slaughtered is my favorite, and it's also one of the best looking. Hellion did a damn good job with the standard HL2 grass texture.
I've always liked gauntlet. Those sky walkways made it a lot different. But my favorite map of all has GOT to be mvalley. It just barely beats canyon gameplay-wise, in my opinion.
Buh. Mvalley brings me bad ninjaing memories and annoying "Simon just destroyed your northern APC, together with five guys all on his own" feelings.
I'd love the play on gauntlet on a 30+ server. 15 vs 15 would be awesome. But i can't have a lot of fun on it with less then 20 people. Don't know why, it's just how it is.
heh, the last time I played gauntlet with people, it was still crashing clients The lack of head hitboxes was annoying too. With helmet camming back then, people could just stand in the windows and fireout with complete protection
not anymore but i did add my custom grass shrub , a rock (1) and a fallen tree log (1) so everybody should have build room because if i added a any more things there would be nothing left to build
About the suggestion for more rocks and grass: yeah, i know that some areas are for building, but other areas could do with well, a bit more to give infantry cover. what about if there is a rockslide in one area, not gameplay changing, but it puts some rocks near that area for people to move amongst. what about of there are some small barricade type walls, like pillboxes, randomly around the map, big enough inside for 2 - 3 people squashed up together. i don't know really. i just feel that the map could do with just a little more to break it up, have some infantry areas or something, perhaps some trees, just to relieve any monotony of the level.
