    Hi all. As you probably all know me and RPG have been helping the Empires Team to balance out the weapons, vehicles and research. The most recent changes have been uploaded to our Research And Development Server. It also has 24 player slots, and should be a lag-free as the official one.

    Anyway, I ask everyone to play on this server and post comments, ideas and suggestions in this thread. You can then discuss here for possible weapon changes. This way, everyone in the community will be able to help balance out the weapons, vehicles and research.

    When I have some time I will go back into tweaking out the arty, ill try to do it this weekend, also FalconX's vehicle prices that are going to be implimented in 1.08 are also on our R&D server (except the new vehicle weapon prices, ill have to edit those in still, very minor anyway)

    I had a visit, but there has been some severe trouble with my I-net conncetion for the whole day so my visit was short and laggy. I'll take another try at some point.

    It was good for the two rounds that I played.

    District is still getting nade-spammed as much as ever, but there's not a whole lot to do about that.

    i played less than a round on money, BE started using arty as an assault tank (i told them: arty is NOT an assault tank, but they didn't listen), so i just quit.

    Lol, arty is nerfed in splash damage. Although with good teamwork, you'll still rack up the turretfarm rankpoints. (Yes, it is possible. I have played numerous games with new arty, and it was a very good support vehicle. But it still got pwnt by lt rushes D: )

    Are the BSID servers down? I only get a list of 6 servers and BSID isn't on there. Of course, only getting 6 servers to list is strange in itself. I thought there were at least 15 servers out there.

    I don't have any filters on btw. I'll take a screen shot to prove it, just watch me!

    I played several hours on R&D today(on NF only). I don't know what you guys did to the NF AR, but you somehow managed to increase the gap between NF rifleman and BE rifleman. NF AR sucks even more than it did before. :D

    The SMGs felt better than last time, but I think I still need to test them some more.

    What I noticed was the complete absence of arties. I don't know what you did, but no one researched arties during those hours I played today. It was miraculous. Vehicle combat was more varied and fun.

    Oh and the HMGs... WTF happened to their damage or did I experience severe packet loss... Anyways it took hell of a long to kill a rifleman with a HMG even with the damage upgrade. Actually it gave BE riflemen enough time to kill me while I was spraying their bodies with lead even though I begun firing before they did.

    It's actually good to know what you guys have changed.

    It's not easy to say which improvements and changes are good if you don't know what's changed.

    Alright I played this sever and hated it. The primary sever I played was Escort.
    The problems is the underwhelming power of all the guns.
    It takes a incredibly long time to kill anyone with any gun in the Scout And Rifle class.
    The Engeers gun now feels like it compared to the Rifles, since everything is underpowered.
    The problem with the BE Heavy rifle in the normal game is the next to nothing recoil, and the problem with the NF rifle is the recoil. Not the damage, in this sever the guns feel like BB guns, They Can Kill Someone But It Will Take A While.
    I also think having the scout as a carbine primary gun sucks. It is too weak to use at a distance since when you are getting hit by it you can easily run and then heal.
    I also think the NF secondary pistol is too weak now. It only has 2 shots, they should be able to kill like normal. They shouldn't replace the rifle in kill power but they should be powerful.
    I do like the artys power though, turrets are killed buy them and that is good.

    Speed and damage changed ever so slightly ;)
    They have been slowed down aswell. SMG1 is nerfed in damage, SMG2 is increased in damage.
    Damage changed from 35 to 27, speed changed from 1080 bpm to 800 bpm. Instead of killing a person in 0,165 seconds, you will now have to wait 0,300 seconds (AN ACTUAL DOUBLING OF THE REQUIRED TIME OMG D: ). The SMG2 has been increased from 660 bpm (= Kill in 0.63 seconds) to 666 bpm, with a damage increase of 6 (= Kill in 0,455 seconds). Seems like a rifleman (up close) has a 1.5 better chance of pwning an engie, and no doubt will those odds increase when farther away.
    I've seen many people able to kill enemies at decent ranges. I've even gotten killed by it very fast, from a pretty long range. It is able to kill in 3 shots, and with a clip of 15 bullets and pinpoint accuracy, that shouldn't be too bad.
    Odd, because I actually increased the amounts of pellets it shot, and left the rest be.
    Nerfed in area.

    I may of been facing a smart riflemen with skills here.
    May of been the same riflemen person but a scout has stealth skillz and shooting once removes your cover. The normal allows you to get head shots and move on. This way makes it so you have to shoot at least 3 times and be spotted easy.

    This is not a complaint against BSID, or anything (afterall, they are the best clan out there [Hey! I'm ex-BSID, it's allowed])

    but i think that the BSID members are being quite defensive here, where other people are just trying to offer constructive critisism that should be taken on board instead of turned away.

    But a scout isn't supposed to have one shot kills. And don't think that that's my idea, it's the idea of a lot of the officials devs. When the hitboxes are fixed, you can ask the devs to have a headshot be a one-hit-kill. I'm not exactly for that idea (higher damage, but not one hit), but if the rest of the community approves of it, it's good to go :)

    Also, remember that the scout will also receive different roles in the following update(s), so killing won't be the only thing a scout is good in, then.

    As for Sandbag: I'm just explaining the logic I followed. If I were defensive, I'd say "FU IM APPOINTED WEAPON MASTAR AND I SAI SMGS PWN RIFLAS :mad:" (Which they don't, by the way :p)

    What some of you fail to realize is that the current hit system is bugged thus some of your rounds will go through. Also there are such things as packet loss to consider here. The times given on how long it takes to kill someone take too many assumptions to be considered as useful(100% accuracy, 0% packet loss, no lag, etc.).

    Indeed. But even then, the Assault Rifle will win. It's faster, more accurate at longer ranges and has higher damage. Only when an engineer gets the jump on you, you might die.

    all things being equal, packet loss will effect all weapons equally.

    Rifleman should be able to kill all men at all ranges with ease.

    personally, I thought that the balence was quite good as it stood: some weapons could do with balancing, and i still think the NF rifle is ineffective at range, but if you only count BE weapons, there shouldn't be any changes.

    NF Rifle as in NF Heavy Rifle? Because the NF AR file is an EXACT copy of the BE AR. So I really can't understand how it would be less accurate :p

    The NF Heavy Rifle is pretty pinpoint accurate, now, as long as you don't fire too fast.
