    its still a beta, so it is normal only a few large servers are online
    this will change if the game becomes final, and it gets popular

    Perhaps this building should be an advanced barracks, that could be researched from Mechanical Engineering -> Advanced Machining? Or where-ever else it would be logical for it to be found from.

    No it would be an upgrade from the standard armory. A whole new branch of research could be created called "Battle Architecture". It would include upgrades to building strength and add new componets to buildings that werent already there. Some examples of a technologie would be that engineers would get a bonus to repairing buildings that had already been constructed.

    Why not leting engineers being able to build smaller bomb shelters.

    Pointless.

    So you're hiding. The artillery will end up finishing you off anyways because you're in such a defensive position that firing back is slowed and difficult. It would be a deathtrap. And the time spent building and occupying, the enemy is pulling in more tanks to protect the artillery (so you don't kill it whilst it's vulnerable), and possibly even able to build a support base (Repair Station, Barracks, ect) so you're REALLY screwed. And as mentioned before, if they want to end it quick (which means you'd be lucky), they'd just shoot the unoccupied command vehicle since everyone's being silly and hiding in the bunker. Artillery is balanced. It's just you people get gas turbined composite POSes and die because you're using a substandard engine with armor the equivelant to wet cardboard (the upgraded wet paper).

    Miniature versions of this would simply be also pointless. If you're going to build one, the tanks will simply ignore you and destroy your comm truck. Or sit outside and wait for you to come out and gun you down with chain guns. Just go grenadier and shoot back. Dodging is more effective than running into something anyways. Cannon splash damage would end you.

    I don't like the "battle architecture" idea because it emphasises base-building over the actual players.

    nah, players would still be needed, and it would make defending your base more interesting.

    I would love building upgrades, for instace, you could build the bunker as it is and then develop it on the inside. IMO the more indepth and detailed we can make the bases the better. there should never be open space if possible, or very little of it.

    i would like some sort of Anti Seige (tanks + aircraft) weaponary that could only be destroyed from people inside the area, such as a giant sheild such as that seen in Starwars Episode 1 (battle for naboo). Alternatively, you could have a shell destroying machinegun or laser.

    Nah. Arty-protected spawn points would allow people to stay in safety while waiting untill the artillery reloads, or waiting untill tank support arrives.

    Each Hexagon is a ressearchable upgrade while Rectangles are the resultant buildings

    Fortifications:

    Armory: Becomes a pillbox like structure from which infatry can shoot out of; has increased HP

    Barracks: Become a bunker like structure suggested earlier in this thread; has more hp.

    Tank Stoppers: Are welded beams that stop tanks from passing through an area, while still allowing infatry to move, as well as proved slight cover (Think Normandy Invasion type of beams)

    Razor Wire: Adds razor wire around all turrets to prevent people from rushing turrets into their blind spots (Player that remains in razor wire takes slight damage, while a player moving through razor wire takes great damage)

    Advanced Fortifications

    Command Centre: Creates a structure where the CV can be saftley parked in, to prevent Ninjas, arty shells and aircraft from damaging the CV in late games

    Advanced Veichle Factory: Recives no major upgrade except some sand bags around the entrance into the Tank building room as well as more HP

    Advanced Aircraft Factory: Recives additional sections that can be built by engineers: AA towers-provide some protection from air units camping the factory, Controll tower- Aircraft re arm and repair faster on repair pads, and the Factory itslef

    Advanced Walls: Unlocks walls that have mountable turrets on them, Gates, walls have more HP, have battlemets for infatry to walk on and fire of
