I killed two engineers wielding SMG's with the NF AR by rushing them and pressing and holding the +attack1 key, all i did was point in their direction.
On every server (Short our R&D where the BE AR is just as crappy as the NF's AR) the NF AR will lose to the BE AR unless playing in smaller spaces (Like district or escort where the NF AR's vastly improved damage makes quick work of everything) I personally think the NF AR would be perfect if the "UNGODLY" kick-back were removed but its inacuracy were kept the same. Damage for accuracy tradeoff to keep them each unique.
I actually perfer the NF AR for a medium distance..... close range I dunno but I find NFAR doesn't have that much of advantage.... I find BEAR has a big advantage in running targets.... NFAR I find alot harder to track targets with just because you can't hold down fire and just follow them with crosshair like BEAR.
NF AR is better for close to melee range because you can just spray, a lot harder to do with the BE AR
it would be OK if, after the NF AR starts kicking back at you, and you stop, it goes back to normal accuracy very quickly, but as it is, it takes ages to get back to normal accuracy, which means that your accuracy is terrible for the duration of the time you are shooting at that long range opponeant. you dig?
If we talk about anything we should talk about R&D settings. I think that BE AR is a bit crippled in comparison with NF AR there. Especially on longer ranges.
wow I'm going to start calling the Brendoi Assault Rifle, the bear from now on. Nfar sounds pretty sweet too. Yey for abbreviation. I barely ever play as Brendoi, so I cant really talk about comparing the two guns. =.=
i got 10 kills in a row with the BEAR from long range, i think on the one map with the town in the bottom somewhere. just leik 5 shots. the crosshairs get so small when you crouched thats they almost overlap.
Something about nerfing: to make a game more fun, dont nerf, tone up the other part of the equation! That worked for DoW anyway
Are you sure that it was on BSID R&D? I had situations like that (5-10 kills) but on servers with normal settings. I also mean various ranges not only low.
........... Its pretty situational. I'm sure I've gotten 10 kills in a row with NFAR on normal settings. Stuff seems pretty decent on RD now. BEAR2 pwns BEAR1 now anyway .
Rifleman needs a long range weapon that isn't so good in close range, like: a this gun can fire as fire as the scout rifle and same ammoz and scope except this gun has a CAP of 50 damage. so you can't do more than 50 damage. wouldn't that be good?
Killing the range advantage of the BEAR kills the only advantage it has. If you put it up against the NFAR at mid to short range, its going to lose unless the player using the NFAR is obscenely incompetent. But I will agree that the NFAR needs a little less kick, but the accuracy should stay the same.
I personally think the weapons are fine right now. if a rifleman kills you and your engineer buddy- fair play. thats his job. in a strait fight, you honestly arn't meant to have a chance. furthermore, it's never going to be fun dying, but as the NF AR is getting balanced (it's still a bit too inaccurate over mid range for my liking), then he's doing his job. and it is certainly fun (and realistic- which really does count) to be able to kill more than one person per clip.
The one issue with the BE AR2 is the aim is too good in close quarters. The reason I can get a LOT of kills with the NFAR is I get close and move. I can still hit the BE guy because my aim goes down to hell but the BEs aim is too much and they can't follow me.
Yeah, I slowed it down and made it less accurate, tested by Simon The Overpowered-Weapons-Finder (STOWF (pronounced stove) for friends) himself :p
the balancing may need tweaking, but is there any need to take the overall damage down? for instance, the BEAR vs NFAR might go from 5:4 to 6:5 or something, but the average damage of em should stay the same, right???
