My hearing has gone to shit since I graduated from HS, so its harder for me to hear some sounds unless its completely obvious and obnoxious. So lord knows half of my music sounds like shit and I can't tell, never been a headphone fan.
You might be surprised though, try out some decent headphones at a electronic store the next time you get a chance. If they're cool you can try plugging in your own music player, otherwise you might not get the best idea if you use whatever music they have on. I tend to think it's crap and not what I'll end up listening to most of the time. I didn't think there was anything to buying fancier headphones but I really heard a difference when I slapped my new head phones on my head the first time. Though I do think there is a point of it just being really excessive and silly, like with fancy computer parts or whatever. Much less return for the money ya know?
I don't have a portable music player. Never needed one, I play music when im stressed or playing fighting games to help me focus. And it was always at home. I use Rainymood to help me sleep sometimes, but my jazz is usually for when im freaking out or pissed about something. Used to use headphones but just stopped liking the feeling around my ears, now I just listen to all my porn via speakers like a normal person.

Ok? 40 to 50, yeah. If you're happy with it then more power to you but even at that price you could do better.
Earbuds are kinda poop, but those ones that go in you ear can be pretty good I feel. Though this may be because it blocks quite a bit of sound so you don't have to blast the music as loud to overcome the ambient noise around you. That's the way I feel about it. I don't like the idea of wireless headsets because of batteries that need changing and the added weight of from them.
