before people can spawn in on apc it needs to DEPLOY. when an apc is DEPLOYED it cannot move and needs to spend a few seconds to return to a mobile state.
Why? Party buses are part of what makes empires fun. I don't see what needs to be 'fixed' nor how this would 'fix' it.
It makes apc rushes a lot harder to pull off but still allows apcs to be forward spawn points in combat zones
This was designed as a nerf to APC rushes while still allowing APCs to be used in more "normal" ways (forward spawn points)
I played Command and Conquer N64,its terrible. Next step is a mobile turret like the tiberian sun tick tank. And then a MCV.
People complain about apc rushes ruining scrims and being generally bullshit. Removing incentive for players to use these strategies would create a happier metagame?
Mmmm, well they haven't ruined any of the scrims we've been playing. See, the problem is that it's hard to defend against when the team doesn't communicate or doesn't want to do something against an apc rush. It's something you can see coming from a distance. Commanders can give themselves time to resist it too by building additional raxes and what not. People generally can do something about it, but the main way of dealing with it is killspawning which is something a newer player probably won't do and people who know about won't do it because they think someone else will do it. Ninjas are in a similar boat, but I don't hate on apc rushes because they tend to include more of the team and aren't a sudden surprise most of the time.
