In all my time playing empires, I have never, not once, gotten angry at an ammo box for being near a ref point. Lets focus the energy on something important shall we? Don't troll, you know noone cares about ammo boxes ffs.
they're talking about rainbow road with only 1 ref point... But rainbow road is a joke map anyways. :/
I rage, but it's the "that fucking clever asshole fucked us!" rather than "what the shit is this cheap buggy shit game FFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-"... That's just me though. I think RR is the only map where this is/has been a problem. Kickable offense though? Fuck off...
Why is this a kickable offense? It is a viable game mechanic for now, that might change. In other news: Is Empiers a serious game, or something along the lines of TF2? Our reporter Empty will dig deep and find out. Right after the commercial break.
If Empires was a game where it took no longer than 30 seconds to spawn and get to the front lines, then I'd lol.
That's exactly what Empires is if you're playing with apwall as your comm, because you're running from your starting barracks to everywhere.
It is kinda lame but whoever kicked for it is retarded. IMO its better to use all your calc energy to build walls in small game that way a single engineer will have to use 3x full calcs to get a ref up again.
Short version: Ammobox exploit? Yes!!1!!!! What? No! NoRLY, Ammobox is exploit! Bug is Feature, STFU! BANNED.
this is equivalent to gas stealing or manner pylons in starcraft. an unintended consequence of other game design elements, but a valid tactic nonetheless. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Gas_Steal http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Manner_Pylon both are extremely lame tactics, both are also occasionally very successful tactics from time to time. it's kind of annoying to have this happen to you, but i don't know what to say. i would hate to see it removed in empires. if it is an exploit, i deserve to be banned several times over because i do this almost every single time i get the opportunity on rainbowroad. a single ref is really vulnerable to this tactic and teams need to defend accordingly.
so is building and then later canceling an assimilator. you recoup 3/4 of the building's cost when you cancel it (which you usually, but not always do)
Still losing 25 minerals. In empires a single soldier loses the ability to replenish his own ammo for a minute or so. Rarely if ever makes a difference to him.
Why the fuck are we comparing Game_A to Game_B? They're two different games, two different strategies (overall gameplay), and two different mindsets when playing the game.
not really. Com one want's to fuck over com 2 by using a lame ass strategy that just pisses the first com off but there is nothing that the first com can do about it. Ever had that problem in empires? HSM rushes or com rushing and kicking your teams ass before they build the barracks for example? It's exactly the same, except there are usually a half dozen people who can't figure out whats going on mixed in.
