Can i see some of your work? do you have a solid understanding of xhtml or xml? do you work object oriented? Do you know any web design scripting languages? (php, javascript...) what are your suggestions on the current empires website, and how would you fix them? how much time do you have free to work for the empires cause?
attracting more people to empires requires a 3 fold tactic. 1. make sure all info on the site is accurate 2. get out there on popluar gaming sites. 3. dont go all elitist on new players, just talk them through it. people who could possiblly like the game, often dont because people get very heated in games and just yell at nubs. the easiest way to get people to care about what you care about is be nice and explain it in a way that you show them how cool it is
There was an effort to make an Empires Viral Machinima video, but it never went anywhere as nobody made any sort of a script for it.
no its not moron unless you count playing squad leader and actually COMMANDING because to reach the minimum competancy level (get refineries, kill enemy team), you just have to learn how to shot mans and drive tanks (and if you've played hl2, you can do both)
Well i dont know how to film in game but i be willing to take part in a machinima of empires look at what happened to mods with low amounts of ppl playing when this guy "source mod todd" started making films for them.
There is a script...all the fanfic we've done. But if you really want one I could something together pretty quickly - heck i've had some good ideas just reading this thread. The problem is you'll need a few good people to do voices etc. Tbh...even something like my second chapter could work pretty well...except I can't think of a grassy map with quite enough ...er, wait a minute, there is one, a custom that would work...smokies SE corner could possibly work. I definately think that HSM should make a video though.

It wasn't exactly the most useful tutorial. It tought you jack shit about decking, and you might pick up how to jump. Wait, I'm confusing synergy with dystopia. Synergy's was good!
next time you are playing with headshotmaster (or are headshotmaster) fire up FRAPS and wait for an "empires is serious business" opportunity. and yes, demo/tutorial 1 player maps are a good thing. that show i started playing the hidden, it looked dumb but the demo map sold me enough to play for a few weeks.

Same shit happened to me yesterday.. On mvalley, had about half map. Then ONE apc, just ONE apc comes up on the hill in north, (I even placed a radar there so no barracks could be made) And I think.. okay, I just tell my team to kill it... 6 scouts tried to kill one apc, they all failed, we lost the game.
Ahhh...the Scout. My favorite class. you just can't have enough 1337 LOLsniperz on your team. You just can't.
