Hey guys. I thought a 2nd seat for the cv could be nice. So you have 2 commanders. Make it maybe as an upgrade you can select by selecting the cv.
i don't mean to poop on your parade, just a few crit's that i see: -disputes between comms such as :how to spend resources :what to research :where to send people :what tactics to use :when to move the CV -not really enough to do as a comm as it is -not large enough games to warrant the loss of another player per team to the command chair -encorages use of CV as a taxi, which is surely a bad thing as it encorages play which risks loosing the game and wasting time for everyone playing.
this has given me an idea... what if you make the teams a bit more individual, buy giving 1 team the extra few slots in the command vehicle, and another team something else... like errrr.... maybe a little turret at the front, which can be operated by the person in the second seat... it would take a fuck load of ballancing, but it could be done, and would start to push each team into individuality like pushing for a forward base v.s being defensive
It's an OK idea, but I have to agree with sandbag. If anything, it should just be so that someone else can enter the CV while the commander is operating, and the driver can move around while the commander does his thing. Plus, I seem to remember reading something about the massive amount of work that would be needed to execute this. But I don't remember for sure, the only recent stuff I heard was the Zombie Master Devs saying how hard it would be to institute an additional Zombie "commander." But maybe they just suck at programming, idk.
Only the 1st comm is the driver (the one in the first seat). And they can talk to each other what they want maybe the one leads the players and the other does things like research and building. I always have been busy as comm, marking enemies for my troops and research and all that. In this way, we could split that up! You could do it like this: the first comm is the main comm who can do everything while the second comm can just give orders for troops and maybe building rax, ref and so on!
ahhh just forget what i said, i was still recovering from last night... its not really a very practical suggestion anyways i like what Lullum is saying above, only just a bit differently i.e one main comm ( who is voted in) can do everything and a second comm, who, if the No.'s permit it, can give orders to the troops, and lay certain buildings.
2 squads.. 2 commanders for each squad.. no waiting for placements.. commanders would watch over squad entire time
I think it would be fun really. It's like AOE2 when two can play on the same team. I think it would add fun to the game, but it's not necessary.
If everybody can go comm, who will play? They'd just hover over the enemy base and say "pew pew pew", and the enemy commander would recycle the target the commander was looking at.
What about one seat for building, and it is restricted to the human eye, and the other is for tactical purposes, maybe only for squad leaders, where they can see what soldiers are doing, maybe help them in some way (ideas anyone??)
Oh snap, I missed it. There used to be a second seat in the bf42 version, but it was for the commander while the first seat was for the driver. You'd get people driving off the CV and screwing up your view because they don't agree with your command or because they dont know any better but to jump into the boomtank. Me and Scout had some fun times trying to get someone to exit. What would be sweet though is some more passenger seats to relocate quickly. In BF42 we could jump on the tank and have makeshift seats, but this is out of the question in Source. "Everyone, jump on the CV! Relocate!"
I think that's a really great idea. Couldn't it be done with extra passenger seats? So positions 3,4,5 and 6 are on the outside of the vehicle, and you can see the player models holding on from the outside. They'd be vulnerable, but maybe they could also fire their weapons to form some kind of defence for a CV on the move.
