1.08 Status Update

Do you plan to have better sounds for the animations, too, or do you currently lack the ability to deal with those? The impact of animations are much lower if they don't have solid-sounding appropriate noises. Bodrick posted a video of the BE AR and ironsights, and while the reload animation looked fine, it felt very "floaty" for it to have no sound when the slide was pulled back or anything besides a little clicking when the clip is removed or inserted.

 

I'm assuming compling is a pain, because otherwise I'd suggest releasing 1.08 then have small updates when new weapon models are finished. For instance every sunday or every other sunday (1.081-1.085 lets say).

I assume there are other things too, but if it were only models, they would be client side no? Servers wouldn't need to update as well would they?

 

it's a good idea, you can do this because people is bored of 1.7...

i'm not! 1.71 is cool, but then again i do want to see 1.08.

i really hope there is a forum release, to smooth out bugs (it'll be better in the long term), and I REALLY hope that the proper version of 1.08 is called Beta 2. i really do want that now.

 

Beta 2 will have aircraft, i'd call it V1.1.

 

I think that, when this thread reaches 100 pages (10 per page), 1.08 will come out.

No, it would have made more sense if it was 10 full pages and 1 page with 8 posts on it, but I think we burned that bridge quite a bit ago...

yes, but the content needs to be upgraded, the models are doublefaced, needs new maps, some code fixes and new stuff, and the version 1.8 has a lot of new thinga can made the game more fun

 

Not to mention how 1.71 crashes nearly everytime I play it, so I'd rather roll on with 1.08

 

I don't mind waiting for a little bit until 1.08 comes out; since the more perfect it is when it is released the less pain everyone will have in the end, so there will be no "Reversed Arty Bug" or "AVF/APC crash of doom Bug". All good things take time...

Any recent update on 1.8? Kinda holding out for it before I come back to the game.

 

The models are some of the only things left to do.
