Empires 2.5 RC1 has been released, whilst there are still some minor bugs (primarily associated with spectating) it has been decided to update the game to provide an immediate resolution to all known launch problems. This interim release contains several bug fixes, balance changes and some commonly requested features, a full list of which can be seen below. Note that the latest Release Candidate can be seen at the top of the list, with the older versions below it. Special thanks to DDD Destroyer, Empty and Ikalx for the new map descriptions, Ikalx for the new weapon names and descriptions, Lord DZ for the minimised icon and everyone that contributed to playtesting and balancing discussions.
um.... So wait... you also upped missile ammo and dmg thus, you just made it easier for NF to win by making NF in general stronger.
Well I will give you the fact that NF apc sucks snail cock but, upping building resists to (current) standard IMP weapons while at the same time improving missiles? I duno... that seems like tipping the scales the other way instead of leveling things out. Not only did building resists to HE go up... HE dmg went down... double whammy on it. I do like the increase in HEMG though.
Really just waiting to see how the names/descriptions go down. If people like the changes overall we can do the rest of the names. Or not. I know people like the HR/AR/MG names since while they may just be descriptors, they're fairly apt and can be referenced easily.
Was wondering what this means exactly. In specific terms. Does it mean every player adds on 1 sec to a base of 30? So rounds start faster if it's like 10 people on? I'm just curious how players affect the time to start.
It means that if it's 10s and we then put emp_sv_wait_phase_time 200, it'll update, rather than having to be inputted before the counter started.
*drools* I was going to call out Ikalx for some of the more absurd weapon names... but Wiki page for BE weapons Wiki page for NF weapons last edited in 2007. Also according to that the NF RPG/Mortar is officially known as the 'WarFle'. Thank god that's not the name that shows up in the menu. As some players said in-game last night it's got a huge 'fanfic' vibe to it.
Lol. I only really changed the smg's and the pistol names. And yeah it would be totally insane to use my own names Though I did change Kren industrial to Bren industrial just because it seemed more appropriate. And BE's smg1 doesn't have half of Krenzo's name because it's actually called x6 or whatever on the side of it. Would be kidna dumb for me to rename it. Though Grizzly does rather fit the shot pistol. Maybe I should have done that one.
