Something I always appreciate about buildings is if you can enter them from several directions, making it easier to place them close to a bunker without having to spend a lot of time turning and twisting them.
so basically the design most agree with is something like a building/bunker with the pad ontop of it and a small observation building taking a launch bunker out of real life wouldnt be that much of a building basically just a hidden hatch in the ground and a building besides it i would prefer the first design too
As Chris said, the proportions are not quite right. There's also a lot of detail and props, which makes me wonder how it will look when it scales down.
no dont get me wrong this is only a 3 dimensional sketch i just want to see how i should build it before starting anything in detail i will probably use wookies design but not the model
Glad to see you picked it up. Here goes some of the ideas from when I was doing an aircraft factory this last summer. and some more in my dropbox gallery http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/14614173/1/empires_project_pics?h=4a77ff
im still for the "pad on rooftop" approach because if you want the inside that way that the enemy team cant shoot or rush in easily, the other approach is going to take too much space
Rooftop pad is not a bad idea, never thought of that, and I doodled like 30 different shapes and styles, and did not even think roof top access was even an option. I was looking at helicopter pads, and Small airports as ideas to draw upon.
nice liberal, that first one looks like a good drop-build-walk-in-and-fly-out design. the second one looks too big for getting a good placement in any map. the first one is also like the tribes 2 vehicle pad so even more god like.
how bout this? scale may be a little off, and perhaps the deck should be thicker, and the backside may be a little boring, (but so is the back of a vf)...but otherwise, what do you guys think? I include a pic of the nf repair pad because I took the girders underneath from it, among other things. oh yeah, things i kept in mind when doing this: -travel time in the BE version, you cant just walk in. - low overhead -square "nf ish" footprint and materials
thought so too so I tried to combine both concepts: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/15752870/1/NF Airfac?h=0ece0f just in case someone wondered: that red block is the roughly proportion of a playermodel
I'm thinking the back of Deadpool's observation area should be slanted(like the NF barracks) to a certain height from the top and level off after it drops a bit if it's used. Would help to get rid of some of them oh so awesome right angles.
