Hey all, I was wondering how many people here on the forums play MMORPG's or have played MMORPG's over the year. I myself have played several and it's how I got into the mainstream PC gaming scene. Over the last 6 years or so I've played: Ultima Online Dark Age of Camelot Star Wars Galaxies Everquest 1 World of Warcraft Guild Wars Everquest 2 Beta As you can see, I've played many of the mainstream MMO's, Dark Age of Camelot being my largest, having played for 4 years, and Star Wars Galaxies for nearly 3. I'm currently not playing any for the moment, as I'm waiting on the soon-releasing Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. So, am I alone here or do we have anyone else into this genre? Thor
Guild Wars FFXI Arch Lord(Im thinking about it -=o) WarRock (its just a free bf2 clone -=\ tried it 2 days ago) WoW dont remember what else -=/
Star Wars Galaxies before they fucked it up, World of Warcraft to level 40. I've played a few others that my friends have dragged me into, but nothing else notable.
Anarchy online. EVE online (just the trial period). I don't feel much for paying subscriptions so I tend to keep to the free ones. They also suck way too much time.
Starwars Galaxies (Long time vet for Pre-CU, CU and NGE), played on and off and played for almost a year. Now I play EVE online, and I love it, been playing for almost 2 months now.(Send lots of ISK to Tetsuka )
I played Plane Shift for a couple of months, but since it's still quite empty in terms of stuff to do and things break down periodically due to the fact that it's mere early beta(been there for years now) I've decided to let it lay low for a while. It's annoying as hell to notice that couple of hours ago the NPC system was reworked or that the shops have been changed while you're in a middle of a quest involving those NPCs and that the whole thing was only partial update and that most of things broke down while they did it... Yeah, it's an early beta and I'm a "beta tester" but still there isn't much game to test... Perhaps later. Several people have tried to get me play WoW, but since three people dropped out from my class because of WoW... I came into a conclusion that it would be better to steer the hell away from it, if I plan on graduating.
Ultima Online (Pre T2A) Acheron's Call EQ (Very Shortly: too carebeareque) Neverwinter Nights Runescape DAoC (Beta and Release) SWG (Beta and Release) WoW (Beta - sucked balls) Awaiting Vanguard
I played a free month FFXI over the summer. I also play SilkRoad, but I haven't really logged in months.
due to my good comp. being sent away for much needed repairs i'v started playing : Battle Master i totally love it, who needs graphics - battle master rocks
I never payed for any of those >.> It was either a beta or private server... I usualy loose interest in an MMO' once it takes more then one sitting to level up... I didn't like EVE since most of the time I spent was just waching the ship fly for minutes to that stupid jump gate...
Got WoW over a week ago (A friend bought it as a gift, free game how could I say no?), played for a few days and got to level 11. Haven't really played since then but as far as what I think of Rpgs; I love it. Maybe it's the Warcraft theme, maybe I think it's not as repetitive as oh say, Runescape or Guildwars. I could go on but alas I can't think of anything :confused:
Nice. The reason I started this thread in the first place was because I and some friends I've met on Empires are startin a guild for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes(www.vanguardsoh.com), which is a new gen MMO coming out around early March '07. Goose and I have been long time MMORPG'ers and guild leaders/officers for several years and so I think we have what it takes to lead a successful guild. The website is currently being worked on, but the domain is www.vgforsaken.com for whenever we get anything up. If anyones interested, feel free to ask here or private message me and i'll post more information. The website is going to be uber sweet, and our forum is getting custom skinned as well.
I just don't like the whole pay as you play thing... What content do they add? Not really much; nothing I would go totaly nuts for... GM's Salaries? BahUAhauhauahuahuahuahhahaah.... You pay someone to be playing a game? Wait they actualy do that? ;;
