I just learned this. I wonder if it's a common sense already. For the people you blocked, they can still see you online/away/playing a game. They can even send you messages, it's just you won't receive them at all. Kind of a weird shit.
Welcome to the world of passive agressiveness, where your opinions don't matter. I'm confused why steam guys are okay with having this in though.
how about remove them from your friendslist? i always assumed it would remove you from their friendslist aswell. i never confirmed it though ...
I performed a experiment with a friend. When you block somebody, you will appear offline to them at all times. But if they are on your friends list, they can see you online.
What's fucking annoying is that I've blocked mr.dee but he can still send me chat request. Like every other week for an hour straight he just keeps sending my chat request constantly. I click cancel and another one comes up. I've reported him several times for harassment because it's fucking annoying but obviously valve isn't moderating that shit or they don't know that you can send people chat request despite being blocked. Not to turn this into a mr.dee thread, but I'm pretty sure he must send everyone else here chat request, so I'd like it if everyone could report him for harassment or something and maybe then gaben's minions will do something about it.
I have Thor blocked, but I didn't de-friend him. So I can see when hes online at all times. However, since I blocked Voldemort and removed him. He cannot send me any kind of messages, no matter how much abuse I hurl at him through Franklin. So grant, I suggest you un-block him, check to see if he is on your list or any kind of list remove and then block him again. If this issue persists, open up a support ticket and explain the situation to them. That's how I got the Russian fuckhead who kept spamming me for hats to go away.
I can't report him, because steam won't let me User is unfriended and blocked already, but I still get group chat invites
Keep trying, open a support ticket if you have too and email them personally on having this fuckers account banned. Letting that shit head harass you for years is the worst possible thing. use this for reference http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3028656 Make sure you read all of it. All of you.
Updates! Alright thanks guys for compiling all of the evidence, I sent a chunk email a few days ago with all the screens and chatlogs that you guys saved. However this will take awhile but to speed it up, I suggest you guys take what evidence you have and send an email yourself. We will have a stack of reports against this person and most likely get his steam community banned. If he evades and attempts to contact any of you again, screen shot it and send another email and he will permanently loose all rights to steam. Yeah I don't fuck around. And neither should any of you when it comes to serious matters like this.
Valve's logic : Allowing someone to completely block a person is too hard, handling 10000 complaints is easier.
So that being said, go to your blocked users list and report that thing. I already sent an email explaining that we already did, but it can't hurt if we have some extra stacks piled up. Oh and changing your name won't help, every steam account has a steam ID and they see that and known alias. All they have to do is look at the report ID's and it traces to your name. Game over... If you ever try doing this shit again, me being a certified psychopath myself. I will end this personally with a legal team. Don't ever take advantage of somebodies kindness ever again, especially when all they wanted to do was help you. You jerk.
- send standard response - close ticket this is how Valve always has handled complains about Mr.D and always will.
My ticket is still open, only I can close a ticket. Times have changed since the early days, especially when they got hit with legal teams for being bad about harassment cases. If they respond to any of your tickets guys explain you already did and put an attachment of the guy sending you a chat invite. If you want to do it right, include a time stamp on each one and compile it into one large image. That's what I did when saved all of the conversations I had with him. Although I don't seem to ever get any chat invites, he seems to like you guys more than me.
Personally i had no problems with him, but considering how long and deep he stalked Trickster & Co and yet Valve was shrugging it's shoulders.
You guys didn't have me. I save everything from anyone I consider sketchy. I have images and pages of conversations I had with trickster and moojuice. Doubting I will ever need to use these, I just do it because I always listen to my gut.
That's a smart move, keeping all the incriminating stuff from Trickster might pay of in form of a nice regular hush-money income.
LOL, I can't report anyone. Maybe because my steam account is from 2003 and still uses the old steam ID and mail account for login thing :/
