I would like to share a few early screenshots taken by Angry of my 1/16th scale map. It is a work in progress with 60+ islands and a large mainland targeted to aircraft, naval, and land battle. This will take several more months to complete but should be ready by the end of the year. Sorry for the water........ it wasn't textured in that build.
Very nice, I'm sure it'll look 16x better when it's full size! :D You could do with a little fog, not much, just the normal amount you'd get off the sea at those distances. What program did you use?
Remember that all land masses will be 16x larger once it is properly scaled, and aircraft travel much faster than tanks.
It is all scaled, I took all those pictures with the Developer server DLL at 16x scale. Since this is a sea map it's made for aircraft mainly but there is a mainland that isn't added yet... As said before those pictures were taken in 16x BELIEVE ME with about 70 islands plus a massive mainland there will be far more than enough.
Those pictures remind me at old submarine simulators. :p By the way, how are you going to do the scaling? Just create a new 16x bigger block next to the 1/16 model and then start to do everything 16x bigger on the new one? Edit: Oh. Slow me. So.... How do you actually do the scaling with that dll?
Oh, well in that case it could use bigger land. I don't know, I've probably not seen enough of it from those few screenshots.
D'X MOMMYYY!!!!!!! I'M LOST!!! *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHaaaAHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!* (<- cryes) Seriously talking, that's *bad word* *bad word* of a load of walking for infantry.
emp_noreturn is a canyon map, it was the aircraft test map, although the test wasn't all that successful to me.
Yeah I know that huge maps are for aircraft but when you start the map and you are running low on res and can't get the AF up, it is long walk for infantry to get some refiniries up first.
I'm sure most 1/16 maps will have aircraft factories and plenty of res, since such large maps wouldn't be fit for resource gathering anyway.
