A little ramp to walk up into a truck bed sort of area would be cool. You could dangerously transport a large number of players, hostile or friendly. But at that point, we're redesigning the cvs. Model work, lol.
Model work? get harry. Your right though... adding a little top area the com can hold people on would be cool. He could carry a gren or two while he boom tanks.
What would really be compelling is the potential for unwanted passengers. Did your boomtanking earn you an engy calc'ing away on your back? Or maybe a gren dropping mines in that luscious cargo hold? So it would allow for enhanced boomtanking, but it would raise the negative potential as well.
How do you guys typically balance the need for redundant buildings in a small space with the vulnerability to scouts/splash weapons? I don't com enough to know the answer, but I would intuitively think that it's handy to have extra buildings so you can use those when the others are sabbed.
Drop walls, they are your best friends. Place triangle shaped walls. and hire some scunt hunters like me, I only accept cakes, especially chocolate cakes. Also yes, my first thought when seeing those building placements is : oh gad, can't wait to throw seismics at them.
Lol, of course you need turrets. This was just about placement of buildings. How would you place walls? You have to let vehicles out, so there's always a vf-sized hole in your walls.

The hole should only be slightly wider than a vehicle, and the walls should form a funnel - a triangle without a base, as Security said - facing outwards - in order to drive in you have to fit perfectly in the hole, to drive out all you need is ramming into the funnel. And turrets.
How do you tell the minimum distance before you run into non-nuke splash issues? You're example still looks vulnerable to seismic splash, but I admit that I'm just eyeballing it.
I would advise you to NOT place buildings like that. If there's only a 2 cm gap between your VF and your rax, it's clearly that you can't drop walls between them. Or you may build walls AROUND your base, so it's hard for enemy to tell where to land their explosive. Or..Just kill the motherfucker, I prefer this than wasting resources on walls, and... I never place my buildings like that anyway.
