CW isn't dead. They have a server up. ExE was never alive to begin with. JPL isn't dead. Their new tag is |.\\.
But when you change to the bookshelf tag you become super unnice? And Xyber, you CANNOT call @@@@xxx@@@@ a clan. You have 3-4 members. Clans don't work with 3-4 members.
An inactive clan is allowed to come back when ever we want. You do know our clan has been around since before you played right? We just all stopped and went inactive about a year n a half ago. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/theatclan The fact that my 5 active members are all better than you I can assume that the other 10 barely active and the other 15 inactive are better than you too . Good job on going completely off topic. See you on the battlefield when I'm skull fuckin ya! @@@@XYBER@@@@ PS: Brush up on your history before you go all passive aggro on my ass.
I'd love to be skullfucked by you but MEG has a few upcoming training sessions for the scrims so I won't have time. When's your next scrim? Gonna have a 2v2 on district? EDIT: I know it's hard to tell through text but this is in a friendy tone, not trying to start a flame war here.
The fact that we just re-lit the @ fire its gonna take some time to get some more active members. But nah, I'll just roll ya on random games.
MEG is a progressive clan @ has interesting characters <AWC-PM> or whatever is starting out in empires and is interesting
Elitism in Empires is no different than any other online game. You have your more social clans like MEG, and then you have your invite-only closed off clans like Consortium, JPL and BSID. Can't really blame people for being selective, I would want to be invite only too especially if my end goal was to scrim other clans. At least it is a little bit better since there seems to be more clans now than their used to be, and you can always start your own like that GOE guy. Take WOW for example, if you've ever tried to join one of your servers better raiding guilds you have to fill out an application, prove date of birth, go through a 90 days grace period, and get an invitation from two other guild members. Its fucking easier to get a gun in the US than it is to get into those guilds sometimes.
JPL isn't really closed off. I mean, the only clans I would really consider closed are EPIC and Consortium. And MEG has slowed it's intake, we're trying to go for a more competitive role now.
just for all the new people here who aren't really sure what all of this jargon means: social clan = a group of players that share a tag, steamgroup, maybe even a website but are not inherently competitive. the social clan is often one of the much more disorganized clans, but requires little of their members in return. social clans do not discriminate much when it comes to recruitment. if a player is good at the game it often merits approval competitive clan = a clan focused on creating team synergy and scrim preparation. competitive clans encourage their members strongly to improve their skills in order to become more useful to the clan. often competitive clans have external layers of communication that enhance in-game learning and create unique internal clan culture (more social than 'social' clans). competitive clans are more likely to discriminate against recruits based on their reputation in the community more than their skill at the game, which must be outstanding in order to merit consideration.
Lol @@@@. Sit there and claim you were a clan back then, but you virtually never scrimmed even back then. But in short: JPL are invite only and take only experienced players. Consortium are invite only and take, possibly less experienced players, but the skill requirement is probably equal to JPL. MEG are mainly a US clan, and they'll take most, and they scrim a fair bit. @@@@ are just restarting under the guise that they used to be a clan, but they weren't even back then, so basically consider them a new clan. EPIC aren't recruiting at all, and any new members are basically just taken in, there's no invite/application process. And the top 3 clans listed there, are the invite/not recruiting ones. That is basically why they're the most elitist. Because they want to win games, they don't want to take on random players and lower their skill level.
