I have several props_physics_multiplayer objects in my map and they are very buggy. As infantry, whenever you shoot or press "use" while walking into one, you are able to clip through it. I can't figure out which, if any, option among the 100 options in hammer for these objects could account for this behavior. From what I understand, this also occurs with the bikes in Streets of Fire. Could this be a bug in Empires, and that's why most maps contain no props_physics objects? To get a better idea of what I'm talking about, you are welcome to download the latest beta of my map and load and try it for yourself: http://www.hlrse.net/empiresvhe/Flounder/emp_homeland_b8.zip.
He's referring to his cars though, and he wants them to have physics so making them static would make them immobile. The bugginess is really only problematic in infantry vs infantry situations, because a vehicle plowing into one of the prop_physics cars will just crush the infantryman inside anyway, and I believe the splash damage still hurts the infantryman too - at least it seemed that way when Keef and I were horsing around on it.
and by horsing around he means him getting chased around the map as infantry from a speed upgrade NF comm for and hour and a half
Just figured out how to use prop_physics_multiplayer. Set Values: Physics Mode : Solid, Server-side Uncheck FLAG: Force server-side (multiplayer only) Uncheck FLAG: Motion disabled Uncheck FLAG: Debirs- don't collide with the player or other debris
That's the current settings. I remember in an old release I had some of those flags checked the cars were non-solid. I learned my lesson.
When players clip into the cars just say they are getting inside them for cover? Or chop the roof off all the cars so you could just jump in normally?
