No. 100mbits is plenty. We need a server with 16 processing cores and 16GB of RAM. Then, we can bug the devs for 128 players. We'd also need map scaling for that many players.
We only need multithreaded srcds. I think we could get 15 tank limit again if both cores were fully used, maybe even more tanks.
A lot of people sayign "I GOT 10 MBPS INTERNET" but that might well be all fine and good for downloading, but its UPLOAD speed that counts. For example, I have 4mbps internet for download, but for upload, its less than 0.35mbps
That's still better than me Trickster. btw with 64 players empires gameplay pretty much feels optimal. Having 2 infantry players for every vehicle is nice, and because of the limit money can get used to actually invest in heavies and arties instead of 20 LT's. Don't change this !! It's fine as it is!!
yeah, having only a bunch of people actually using resource and others just wasting tickets because they have no other option is so much for the great gameplay
Why someone certainly is cranky that ONE server of all servers is not entirely as he prefers it Well if every player would be sitting in a tank all the time, it would be another game entirely Something like a race/combat genre. Rollcage3: nazi's vs rebels, the build edition Now with a research tree and buildable(*) turrets (*)Just don't exit your vehicles to build them cause you'll be wasting tickets
While I think this has potential I think it needs these things to be good fun. 1. Squad based chat with only the commander heard on every channel. Kind of like vent. 2. Tanks to be distributed by commanders to only higher ranked players. 3. DON'T LET PEOPLE ABANDON TANKS! 4. Pick people up! No one wants to walk for 5 mins to get to the front line! I haven't even played on the server yet but these are problems I assume would occur.
Had a 64 player game on g4tc on tropicvendetta just now, it was beautiful seeing all the little red dots on the map. No discernable lag for me either. Game ran flawlessly and we had a perfect push, counterattack, then finally repulsed and won on tickets.
I thought ep2 was multithread (or at least offers some kind of support to run across multiple cores).
Hmmm, I keep getting megalag issues on the >48 person servers I've been playing on. Anyone else having this problem?
