It's not exactly a bug, but only 1 team can do it to another, which gives them a TREMENDOUS advantage. Basically, get an arty tank (as BE) ram the NF CV in the ass, proceed to shoot 1-slot Artillery Shells in the butt. After full ammo wasted, the enemy commander is dead. I've seen this done several times already, but yesterday I was pissed off greatly. Omneh, not being able to play well without using some glitches, decided to do this, and as he did, the CV was overheated, I couldn't move, and we only took him down because I had trusty teammates. The problem with this is this... First of all, you cannot do this to the BE cv as NF artillery and second of all, it overheats the enemy commander. What could be done is this. Prevent artillery fire when the cannon is close to something. Disable overheating effects of artillery onto the command vehicle.
lol I did this accidentally last week, wanted to die to get a med tank... ended up killing the nf cv... since then yeah I have seen random arties rushing for the cv, I end up chasing them down now where before I might focus on something else... the ability to spam single shell arty right up the nf cvs ass is one of those accidental things that just wound up in the game... I agree that it needs to be addressed
Oh yea, so when a light tank does something similar to ANY TANK AT ALL its called a feature, but when its something as obscure as an artillery tank, thennnnnnn its a bug that needs fixing asap
If you let an enemy ARTILLERY tank get right under the command vehicle, your defenses suck ass. Although I agree artillery does too much heat damage.
Actually, its only a feature if it benefits NF. Anything geared towards BE seems to be shot down as a bug/annoyance.
Blizzard, this is clearly not what artillery was created for, and at the very least, artillery should not be able to kill whatever is in front of it.
I do not agree. its pretty easy for an arty with good engine and armor to break through the lines. the arty kills the CV in ~10 sec: - MLs cant destroy the arty fast enough - same for a single infantry unit (>the commander) - even if ppl killspawn instantly they are too late because of the 10sec respawn timer - mines dont hlp most of the time because of defusal - tanks of your team are usually at the front and cant get to the CV fast enough >> this needs a fix oh, there is another unfair exploit with arty and walls, but i dont want to explain this here. im sure devs know what i mean.
I think this is specifically a problem with single slot arty shells, they seem overpowered in that they fire and reload very fast without overheating the person firing, they also do high damage and blast. As mentioned somewhere before when you research arty tanks it is almost like getting a free upgraded cannon because the single shot is so powerful, whereas double single slots on meds are usable but balanced.
blah, i nearly got raped by omni, just having luck to be alive, its like 5 sec i was down to red i'd die if shooting wasnt nearby , fix please gezor , its with cannons overall not only arties
its not about having no defs, be arty is small ,and with it being tier 2 you can get owned pretty easily under 7 seconds
Hmm, well there are some arty fixes planned but nothing to address this. I'll try and see what I can do.
