    I think I would be great for the mod to be compatible with the program xfire (MSN-like that show what game you are playing at the moment, and which server you are playing at) to promote your mod over the gamer community in xfire and forums thanks to the miniprofile like in my signature.

    To do that, I think you must contact newgames@xfire.com or the old Plan of Attack dev team to know how they done that :p

    I'm pretty sure Empires is already supported.

    *checks*

    Yes, it's there. You might have to go in and tell XFire that you have it installed, but that's a simple task.

    Hum I'm must a Rome Total War & BF2 addicted bot :p

    I seen that the mod is on the games list, but when I'm playing, it's listed as HL2 : DM :/

    Does the problem come from me or from the mod ?

    I'm pretty sure it's from you.
    Have you added Empires to your installed games list?

    Ah.
    I haven't got HL2:DM in my games list... perhaps that's it.

    Have you got the most up-to-date xfire_games.ini?
    Here's my entry for Empires:
    Code:
    [4832]
    LongName=Empires
    ShortName=hl2emp
    LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\InstallPath
    LauncherExe=steam.exe
    DetectExe=SteamApps\*\half-life 2\HL2.exe
    CommandLineMustContain[0]="\SourceMods\empires"
    InstallHint=steamapps\SourceMods\empires\resource\empiresd.ttf
    LauncherPasswordArgs=+password %UA_GAME_HOST_PASSWORD%
    LauncherNetworkArgs="%UA_LAUNCHER_PASSWORD_ARGS% +connect %UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT%"
    Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% -applaunch 220 -game "%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_DIR%\steamapps\sourcemods\empires" %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
    ServerStatusType=SOURCE
    ServerEncodingType=UTF8
    InGameRenderer=D3D9

    it's exactly the same entry.
    If I delete HL2 : DM from installed games, it doesn't detect nothing in Xfire when I launch the mod.
    For my part, I launch the mod from steam, do you launch it from the desktop icon ?

    I usually launch it from steam too.

    Try using XFire to launch it... see what it comes up as.

    It's works when I launch from Xfire, and it says "Preparing to launch Half-Life 2", not Empires beta 1.07 like when I launch from Steam

    Pretty weird problem ._.

    Yeah, that's quite strange.

    Maybe reinstalling XFire might do something... Who knows.

    I GOT IT !!

    Steam launch
    and not
    as in the xfire_games.ini
    So i just created a shortcut with the same number than xfire, and it detect Empires normally :p

    Maybe It only works when you haven't installed HL2: DM, so the 320 code refer to the 220 ?

    Now I can go to bed :D

    well Empires just upgraded the engine, so i wouldn't be surprised if x-fire had to catch up.
