Wouldn't it be nice? - New Research, engines/armor

    I use gas turbine all the time. But I agree we have more than enough engines/armours.

    Okay and why do You research Gas Turbine engine?

    Gas turbine is basically just an upgrade to standard, it's an improvement across the board, but with no special features.

    Indeed. And (I believe) it is right beside composite armour in the research tree (if not, I'm thinking of another engine entirely. lol), so it can be researched quickly when your already going down that research route. I've certainly won plenty of games as commander with just that engine. I'll usually just do other engines once I have heavies and decent guns etc. Basically, It may be not the best engine, but it's quick to research and 'good enough'.

    i like what your suggesting here and i know balancing would be hard but i like the customization it would bring and some of the new amour types sound good

    I would like to say that the huge font size isn't necessary. Yes, Tank Traps and Barbed Wire are a little over the top, as it were, and unlikely to be used in such a time frame as this, but I, personally, think it would be cool. Although the griefing possibilities are endless.

    And I'd be adding onto something that's already used -- The research tree. It's just another set of research. I would like to see some semblance of a tech tree, like X research is required for Y building, but that won't fit in with the current buildings. I asked for something that is.

    And how about something a little more constructive than "THAT IDEA IS STUPID! KISS!" next time?

    Mby You are right... but it could be a bit lighter than other engines to compensate for no special feature.

    What about fission engine driving backwards the same speed as forwards? Is it a good idea? I would make separate topic for it, but I need at least 1 person to say he/she likes the idea.

    Back to topic: someone just said something about making more kinds of shells for tanks. We already have ranged, rails, bio, HE, plasma, biomg, hemg, dumg, .50cal, uML, bioML, nukeML, slavoML, homingML, guidedML and some upgraded kinds of missiles. At least 15 kinds of guns You can place on a tank (and You can combine many types). I play for two months and didn't remember if there is upgraded salvoML? Upgraded homing ML? Upgraded guided ML? Dunno, maby some of them exist, maby all, maby none. This is too much already.
    Like Private Sandbag said, we have enough vehicle weapons & armors (and I'll add engines and chassis). It's time for researching infantry (we have some already and it's cool) & buildings (currently turrets only). Armory "bunker" LVL2 for instance.

    I think that is a great idea. I research fission alot just for its speed and the fact that I'm in the physics so early (NOOOKES)
    But /agreed all engines should have some sort of feature and I think this one fits fission perfectly

    I agree that we have lots of engines. If anything, give more charecter and specialisation to the current engines and armours, so perhaps each engine could have more than one defining feature.

    I'd like it if when players see a fully unlocked tech tree when they enter the VF, they think "hmm.. what sort of tactics will I need today?"

    I don't know, I wouldn't mind seeing 2 new armours and engines, because I think there is a gap to fill, however 5 may be a little much.

    The big issue here is what the devs would be working on next - aircraft, and if they use the same tech tree as has been suggested, we'll probably not mind more engines and armour. If they use a different tech tree, then it's probably too much to make more stuff for tanks and have a separate bunch of stuff for aircraft.

    i think this might just make the commander operations even more confusing for noobies. but let's see where we can go with this.
