Those winding trails on emp_coast and emp_mvalley, how are they made?

I can't tell if how they were made to wind like that. It occurred to me that the displacement was stretched with the overlay but that seems too complex and it doesn't look like the texture has been stretched or compressed at all.

I'd really like to make something like this in the map I'm working on but I don't see how.

They are overlays that have been stretched, with overlays, the texture it self isn't stretched just multiplied. Overlays are pretty easy to use for things like that.

I'm sure someone else could explain it really.

Overlays are decals that you can rotate on the faces they're on, and can be stretched like a brush can, just change it's size before rotating it, or it'll go all weird.

But how was it made to wind around like this:

That seems like more than you can do by just moving the vertexes of the overlay.

To wind like that is just like making a circle with nothing but straight lines, just use multiple overlays to create a "winding" effect.
