That the scout rifle sways? (But only in scope mode.) Is the scout that much more incompetent than the rifleman? Or is the scope powered by a hamster wheel and the round loaded into the chamber by a Rube Goldberg device? Incidentally, that would probably explain why it has such a long cycle rate.

It's not really a matter of difficulty (since only about two people are any good with the scout rifle, and they'll always be good at it no matter how hard it gets the nerf bat) just a matter of being completely arbitrary. I want a justification. Also, that thread ain't public. Which doesn't matter for anyone except me, since I'm the only one without privileges in this thread.
Well, we wouldn't want it to be capable of sniping people at almost one fifth the effectiveness of the BECAR. That would just destroy Empires.
Basically it happened like this Forum goer 1: Hey, Sniper is OP, I always get killed when I'm trying to build my turret. Forum goer 2: ZOMG I get killed by Sniper too, cover, whats that? Rest of the forums: ZOMG WE GOTS TO NERF SNIPAH NAO!
More like Forum goer 1: Damn, snipers are so annoying, they just sit around outside the rax sniping. Forum goer 2: Damn, I always get shot in the head by people I can't see, snipers are so annoying. Sniper: NO REMOVES ME NO REMOVES ME D: D: D: Shotgun: im not dun yet srry dewd ._. And so we get the scout
FG3452: I haven't had any troubles with sniper rifles, but now that FG1 and FG2 mention it, I suppose Sniper rifle must be OP.
should turn it into a auto Gas style rifle, 3-4 shots a kill rapid fire 5 shot clip and looong reload.. lol, and for be make it the classic reload after each shot and 2-3 hits for a kill (1hs + 1 body or 2 hs's), then make it so birds fly at you when your scoped and poop ice cream.. zomg . rocky road anyone?
Afaik the reason was not the gun itself it was the problem that people tend to camp a hill the whole game and do nothing else than lay prone and snipe.
The sway didn't change much. Now that it's basically a fairly weak but longest range weapon, perhaps we can give it the scope back for long range suppressing fire. I try to use it as a support weapon, softening up targets and such, but the scope makes even bodyshots hard.
softening targets when enemy can heal fast and get points for it that makes them stronger like in empires misses the point imo
Fixed by nerfage (and hitboxes), but dumb engineer is still dumb. Fixed by nerfage and by SMG1 as default. Fixed by making it no longer onehitkill. Again, fixed by making SMG1 the default weapon. etc.
