    There are so freaking many suggestions that might make empires better.

    Ideas ranging from what to do with the UI, to massive gameplay changes, to simple little things that seem soooo obvious and sometimes even helpful.

    Some suggestions are repeated very often, some come out of the blue and disappear in a flash. Some have lengthy discussions, others are ignored and barely get a post or two.

    There are over 144 pages of suggestions. Just a quick look at some archived pages shows much the same makeup as more recently: some ideas we think are stupid, some that seem possibly good, some that make us think, and some that were already done to death three years ago.

    But for all those ideas, all the discussions, the ranting and raving, it seems like the suggestions just never really matter. Over time, the game gets better but the suggestions never seem a part of that process, they never really feel connected to anything that actually goes in the game.

    :s

    I don't know if there are many others think this, but it's just the way I kinda feel. I don't really think this is the smartest and most complex discussion I've ever tried to start. Really, I mostly lurk. I haven't made that many topics, and my earlier posts really stink. I don't think I'm like, qualified to say something like this.

    I guess this is just me expressing some frustration. *sigh*

    The suggestions forums is for us to vent our anger and frustrations. Believing the forums has any real significance is a mistake.

    Because we don't have a bazillion developing monkeys that do nothing else all day long except implementing the suggested suggestions.

    It takes 10 seconds to hammer out a suggestion, and maybe 10 minutes to think it through and write up a nice post. I don't know how long it would take to code then model then test then ship a whole new feature that overhauls gameplay, but probly at least an hour. :rolleyes:

    Still though, there are a handful of really simple suggestions that pop up every month or so that never seem to get addressed. Remove the target spam so the comm can read chat, make revive not so sticky, poke another hole in the NF armory, meelee interrupts reload, let comm recycle player turrets etc. I would bet most of these could be fixed in the time it took to replace medium tanks with light tank MKII's.

    Quite a few suggestions were implemented from 2.2 to 2.24...

    It's just most of them are pretty terrible

    Why the fuck do you think? 95% are retarded and for the 4.9% devs don't have time do add and .1% gets in. Seriously, do you think theres like a button on the forum for the devs they can click to instantly add shit to the game?

    Now that just hurts, I bet every demolitions expert has considered at least once strapping a brick of c4 to a remote control car.

    No, but maybe theres
    function add_suggestion( suggestion:String ):Void
    {
    convertwordsintogame( suggestion );
    }
    add_suggestion ( "I want super cool bullet drop sniper rifles that require you to lead the enemy" );

    They were in V1.0 and the BF 1942 versions. The BE dropship model was the only model carried over from BF 1942 iirc.

    I saw a video of the BF 1942 empires. It had the heavy in with a radar strapped on top as the CV.
