I had this idea, similar to how trickster locks spec on his server for like a minute, he should like see if it could work where you lock the team buttons for like 3 minutes so you can only auto-assign.
Idk the rules about posting on dead threads, but this is a good idea. I'm not surprised that it has been suggested years prior. Why not lock spec (until a minute after the match starts) and auto-join players as they come in? You could also automatically class as repair engy and pick a spawn point. I think that alone would improve Empires for pubbers and pros alike. Noobs automatically get in the game as the most useful and approachable class in the game. Pros get useful teammates. Eventually, the noobs will learn how to change class and pick their spawn point, but it's important to get them in the game and make them productive.
This thread was made during the whole ban stackers crisis, but its still a good idea. If you random let it say you randomed, it just makes it easier on admins hunting stackers. That whole no specs forced auto is pretty faggy.
That's why you don't get to hit an "autoassign" button. You join the server and you are automatically put on a team. You skip that dialog box completely. It's not like the dialog box is removed, just not thrown in your face when you join a server.
I like this idea. You could still change team or join Spectator, but everyone would know that you switched teams. Also, people can just shuffle around for planned matches without dealing with an arcane team-locking system.
Bingo, you make it easy for pubbers and hard for pros, not the other way around. Otherwise, you alienate your public base and you lose your source of competitive players.
No bro, I mean like when the teams are filling up, you just autoassign whenever the team you don't want to go on has +1.
cant we already force players on teams? isnt it momre like server owners just dont use it, because you guys complained so much about not being able to stack play with your clanmates/friends?
regardless, give it to these punks so they can make people believe they're not trying to stack when they really are
I dont get it There's another game out there, a pretty decent one, that doesn't give you a choice of team, it just puts you on one. We should do that. If ppl join the game, they get slapped on a team. It would be so good for the game. so good. so. good.
