When will you hoes realize that the front armor of a tank is the least important one?

I lose my front just as much as my rear even with rear having 1-3 plates less.

 

Not if you are Paradox driving his 3phase scuntspeed APC at warp speed.

Then again... three plates of compo wouldnt be enough for that.

 

I think it depends on the map. Say on slaughtered, you better put lots of front armour or you are going to get raped. But on open maps like dustorm where you have enough space to maneuver, it's not as important.

Edit:

And it's also depends on the situation, on what you are going against. If you are expecting many tank battles you don't need too much front as they generally go for the sides or the back.

put equal armor everywhere, except nf heavy, put 2 plates extra on sides because they're the biggest hitbox in the game.

get on my level scrubs, come at me, my tank is equally defensive in all directions, your flanking tactics won't avail you now.

I generally suggest decent front, slightly more on the sides, and weaker rear.

3phase with scout speed is slower than 3phase without scout speed.

Also, the fact is, you put plates on your tank to match your playstyle. If you put no rear armour on, then you're going to take extra care to defend the back. That's just how it goes. You'll always present the healthiest side of your tank to the enemy if you can.

Engine is irrelevant, it always sets it to the same speed. Sometimes this is faster than the engine available, sometimes slower. If for whatever reason you want to find out, you can check in the scripts for the max speed set in scripts/nf or imp/vehicles/ground/scripthere.txt etc. Add 20% onto that, then you find out the speed that scout speed will end up. And after you leave that vehicle, or someone else gets in it without scout speed or any shit like that, it'll be as fast as that value in that script.

 

Even on top of that... steve_uk uses the turbo bug on the BE mediums for full fagotry. Fucking was chasing his ass down yesterday and then the medium went turbo and left me in the dust saying WTF JUST HAPPENED!??! Someone in spec told me that there is a way to bug the BE meds into using turbo.

 

It that's being done the way I think it is, then that bug has been around for a long time, but the people who knew agreed not to use it because it's pretty difficult to fix at our end. If he's being a dick and exploiting into the open, that's really not cool at all. If I end up having to put Pure on all servers just to stop him pulling really dickish shit like that, I will do.

Putting most on the back/sides is safest, because you will most likely be ahead of the people trying to hit you when you are weak.
