Pointless addon to a skill, much like the idea that regen should stop bio. All the functions of a skill should be relevant to the same role. Allowing a weapon to fire underwater is unrelated to halving the sound of it.
A skill allowing to shoot underwater is dope though. It would open up a lot of opportunities for stealthy adventures and escapes.
Why not just tack this as an innate ability for all Scouts? :confused: Trickster: "Pointless addition." Oh, right.
I like that for scouts, better than binocs. Trickster is saying its pointless to add to the silencer skill. I think :\
Also, in the future make it so that if you have the extra armor skill you cannot fly aircraft because you will weigh them down too much!
I'm neutral on firing underwater, but I'm against adding it to a skill with no particular links with it. If you want to add a feature to a skill, think of something relevant. Something that makes sense. Skills shouldn't be packages, they should help you in one specific way. How they do that is another matter.
While it is true that sound travels farther and faster under water, if you shot a gun under water you would not hear it nearly half as much above water. Not to mention most guns CAN shoot one round underwater however, the water prevents constant fire underwater due to messing with the guns method of ejecting the spent cartridge fast enough(causing a jam) and also the re-chamber process. A revolver or sabot shotgun with a magazine drum(that keeps the shells) should be fine to fire constantly underwater tho. im reminded of a myth buster episode where they tested the "like shooting fish in a barrel" quote. Shooting anything in the barrel would kill ALL the fish due to the pressure shock waves in a confined compartment. Mootant.. how about making tossing a HE nade in water kill anyone within 1.5 barax length of the nade or at least makes them loose all air/stamina they have so they HAVE to come up to be shot at.
tell me which skill is more related to underwater firing than the scout's weapon silencer. scouts in the future are like the commando's anyways, why not give them proper tools
