IMO, the N.F. is too outgunned in infantry to do much. Prime example: the B.E. SMG1 and SMG2 have PERFECT accuracy, even after emptying clip after clip, yet the N.F. equivalents are very inaccurate but still have worse damage. Another example: the Heavy Rifle and Carbine Rifle. The Heavy Rifle does great damage, semi-automatic. The Carbine Rifle does around the same damage, but fires three shots at a time.
Maxaxle are you really sure? SMG2 has exactly the same damage and accuracy for NF and BE. For SMG1 there are only some small differences. NF has 1 more damage and BE is a little bit more accurate (~10%). White = BE, Red = NF // Weapon characteristics: Damage 17(18) // damage per bullet //Weapon Spread //When at rest StandingSpread 0.020(0.022) DuckingSpread 0.010(0.012) ProneSpread 0.010(0.011) //When moving at full speed (sv_maxspeed) StandingSpreadModifier 0.040(0.042) DuckingSpreadModifier 0.020(0.022) ProneSpreadModifier 0.010(0.012) //Increment spread by this amount for every shot fired to maximum of moving at full speed spread StandingSpreadIncrement 0.0030(0.0032) And the heavy rifle will be changed in the next version. Didn't you noticed Trickster's public test.
I'll be reviewing his changes and then the rest of the devs need to concur with them aswell before they are included in the next version.
BE //When at rest "JumpingSpread" "0.08" "StandingSpread" "0.02" "DuckingSpread" "0.01" "ProneSpread" "0.01" //Increment spread by this amount for every shot fired to maximum of moving at full speed spread "JumpingSpreadIncrement" "0.02" "StandingSpreadIncrement" "0.003" "DuckingSpreadIncrement" "0.002" "ProneSpreadIncrement" "0.002" NF //When at rest "JumpingSpread" "0.08" "StandingSpread" "0.022" "DuckingSpread" "0.012" "ProneSpread" "0.011" //Increment spread by this amount for every shot fired to maximum of moving at full speed spread "JumpingSpreadIncrement" "0.025" "StandingSpreadIncrement" "0.0032" "DuckingSpreadIncrement" "0.002" "ProneSpreadIncrement" "0.002" The NF SMG does 1 more damage and has identical recoil when ducking. The only real difference is the NF SMG will be about .002 less accurate at maximum spread, at which point neither gun can hit much. Oh noes the imbalance. The carbine being way better then the HR is a known issue. Edit: darn, sip beat me to it, but also one of us has our teams backwards.
o_O: Just detected that I had swapped BE and NF. Beerdude26: Why not use the same values for NF and BE for SMG1. You don't feel these small differences.
It doesn't. Try playing Empires mod some time and see for yourself. You can find the installer at http://empiresmod.com
