The F-35 is a shitty airplane and Canada should get something else. Maybe the Grippen or the F-18 superhornets since we already have hornets.

The russians have the best AA missile system in the world with the S-400 and it was in Syria at some point. Not sure if still there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-400_(missile)

Ukraine is still a bitch and Russian national security is more important. Port of Sevastopol is too important and historically belongs to the Russians. It was lost because of bureaucratic bs and the collapse of the USSR.

No. I meant that Crimea was given to the province of Ukraine during the days of the USSR. When it had always been Russian and Moscovite in the past and was managed by the
Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and it was given to the
Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic because of its proximity among other reasons.

sure, but russia still is a criminal state run by a fucking insane kgb dictator... argueably the USSR would have been better then this warmongering piece of shit.

Also the crim was Ukranian, given fair and square. This invasion just proves putin doesn't care about anything and will be on the receiving end of the progressive escalation nuclear doctrine. Lets just see how many of those rusty ussr nukes still work.

saab gripen? we had that before we got eurofighters - its a figher jet from the 80s why in the world would you want over 30 year old technology? same with F18.

i mean ideally neither of us would need any of this useless crap ...

... also i fail to comprehend what you want to share with us with this tread? what is the meaning, i demand meaning. yeah russia is shit, nato is shit, nothing new, all quiet at the western eastern front.

Gripen is a fine plane Especially the new version. Greece should have bought Gripens and Eurofighters instead of F16, but you see, bribes, bribes everywhere. F16 is in movies tho so it must be better. AMIRIT1I4343W6!!?
In 2012 America funded their 6th generation aircraft program. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixth-generation_jet_fighter It's interesting.

thats definately a sales argument for a country like greece with its huge nuclear arsenal :D

    edit:
tho as nato members they might be nuclear partaker, maybe its less absurd then i thought ...

... now i wonder, how many nukes are stationed in turkey?

    edit:
greece has none since 2001, turkey a considerable amount.

Greece has been HQ for terrorists in Europe. Nukes would not be a good idea as ISIS leaders may hide in Greece currently.

so how does that go together with 50-90 stationed in turkey not that far from the syrian border (not that close either, guess 3-4h by car on a fast road - but its turkey)

Golden Horde and Tatars are Mongols and Turks who came in and occupied Slavic lands which they then lost. Russia became the USSR and gave away it crimea to the "ukrainian province"

Because we are Canada. I heard the Typhoon is temperamental and might not suit the needs of Canada. The gripen is cheap as fuck but would still last longer than the F18 Super Hornet.

We already have F18's so we would still be able to land in a bunch of U.S military bases and use their aircraft carriers.

Dassault was not able to guarantee 100% operational capability of the Rafale in arctic weather. Not sure if this has changed recently.
